My Experience

More than 6 years. I was taking care of many children. I like to do this job. It is not like a usual job, because it’s about children, it’s about love and much involvement ,kindness and affection.

I have worked with children aged 6 months to 6 years old. For example, in Moldova, I only had permanent jobs until the children reached preschool. I was responsible for reading, feeding, cooking when needed, walking, playing, singing, putting them to sleep, washing, engaging in various activities, and potty training them.

?One of the most complex jobs I had was taking care of twins, a boy and a girl, from 6 months old until they started preschool at 2.4 years old. During that time, I went through all the possible stages, including caring for them when they had infections, ( chickenpox) ,interventions, teething, and learning to eat on their own. Of course, I would clean up after them, organize their toys and clothes, cook with them to make it fun, and take them outside. Since we were in the countryside, they had the chance to interact with animals, homegrown fruits, and more. I took them to the doctor for vaccinations, so I was practically like a mother to them.

??I had the opportunity to witness their first steps, draw with them, teach them to pronounce words clearly, and much more.

With another little boy at a different job, I went to speak at the kindergarten to enroll him; his mother had that much trust in me.??

Here in the UK, I took care of a 7-month-old baby boy for a short period of time. Another job was with a 3-year-old girl, with whom I did activities at home (both in Luton). Another job was with two lovely boys, aged 3 and 5, whom I took care of when they were sick and had to stay home (this was in St Albans). We played various games, and I read to them in English, French, and Italian because their parents were French and Italian. It was fun and interesting with them. Other activities included preparing simple meals for them, bathing them, taking care of their allergies and skin issues, getting them ready for bed, and then leaving.
