Leanne

Leanne has been childminding my daughter (now 2 years old) from January 2020 - March 2020, not in care during lockdown, and June 2020 - current. She looks after her for 3 days/ week.

After visiting nurseries in Royston and a few childminders we chose Leanne, and don't have any regrets!
Having very little experience being away from immediate family, my daughter initially experienced separation anxiety. Leanne was patient and helped her to settle in, even creating a personalised book we could read at home to help her adjust. She’s so happy there now and really looks forward to going to Leanne's house.
I’ve been impressed by the variety of toys and activities that Leanne has planned for the children including: crafts, outings to parks, and prior to the lockdown outings to toddler groups too. I’ve seen progress since she’s spent time with Leanne and the other children in her care: she’s learned more words, is more independent, is becoming more interested in playing with others, and Leanne is guiding her to share/take turns.
Leanne provides either written documentation and/or pictures with a message of her day including what she has eaten, how long she has slept, and activities she enjoyed. This helps me to feel involved with her care, and allows me to talk to her about her day.
Leanne has also been so thoughtful, she dropped off activities for my daughter during the lockdown, made my daughter feel very special on her birthday by celebrating with cupcakes, and has put together lovely Mother's Day + Father's Day crafts/cards with the children in her care.
Lastly I really appreciate the flexibility that Leanne has shown our family as my working hours having shifted several times, and continues to be fluid with COVID. She has also been able to accomodate care on alternate days occasionally too which has been a huge help!
