My Summary
About Me
*** Currently unavailable! Pregnant (due December) and employed, so will not be looking for work for the foreseeable ***
Hello! My name is Chloe. I have over 12 years experience in childcare with children aged 6 months to 12 years old. I come with brilliant references and varied experience, along with being naturally very caring, creative, trustworthy, and kind.
I love encouraging children to get outdoors and get involved in all sorts of creative play. I believe that children should be brought up surrounded by encouragement and love, which as a nanny, I try to do often. I love being outdoors, going on walks and new adventures, and love to really encourage a child's imagination as well as their learning and development. I like to clean, ensuring I tidy up after myself and leave the home as I found it, if not tidier. I do not drive, but am a confident user of public transport, love walking, and hope to invest in driving lessons and my test soon.
My Experience
- Currently working with a little 2 year old girl, 3 days a week in Cheltenham. We attend different groups, go to the local parks and shops regularly, and practice some gentle parenting techniques.
- February 2022 - June 2023 : Full time, plus occasional Saturdays, Senior Activities Leader in a local private residential home. Caring for the mental well being of a variety of long and short term client in a private home, organising events, listening and emotionally supporting, providing and organising entertainment, befriending and encouraging a group of adults with varying needs (alzeihmers, dementia, special needs, disabilities, trauma, grief, anxiety, fear, etc). Also leading a team and supporting our Head of activities staff in the daily running of our activities schedule.
- 2019 to 2020 : Ad hoc care for two boys, aged 1 and 3. Supporting a mother with daily tasks, taking the children for walks, to local children’s groups, helping make tea and playing with both of them.
- 2017 to 2019 (Monday & Tuesday): Two days a week with a 2 year old little girl, tending to her needs, naps, meal times, play and socialising. Sometimes attending a baby group at a local church, and often going for walks with the pram. I pick up her eldest sister at the end of her after-school clubs, and then cook tea for them both. I was with this family for almost two years.
- Nannying 2016: at least 34 hours a week, with two different families. One family with one little girl of almost a year old, on Mondays and Fridays (at least 10 hour days), and another family with a little girl of almost a year, on Wednesdays and Thursday's (7hr days).
- Live In AuPair: Experience as a live-in au pair/lodger, in Bournemouth. School runs, mothers help, care of youngest while mother runs errands etc.
- Nannying 2014: 46 hours a week, with two different families a week. One family with three boys (ages 1, 4 & 6) on mondays and thursdays (10hr days), another family with two boys (ages 1 & 5) on tuesday and wednesdays (9hr days).
- Home teaching assistant: Helping to support, encourage and educate a 5 year old boy from Bangladeshi. This involved me helping him with his maths and English homework, spellings, reading, and general understanding of the English language.
- Work experience at Christchurch Winchester 2012: tasks from cleaning bathrooms, being a leader in the weekly toddlers group (running crafts, leading songs and nursery rhymes, and assuring the safety and happiness of the children), being a part of running multiple primary school assemblies, to cleaning and cooking in the kitchen.
- Special Needs Experience : This entailed days out with an organisation called KIDS, where I was made responsible for one child, all day. I have also worked in 2016 with a girl for a few hours who is 40% deaf, born extremely premature, with special needs, and a brilliant boy with severe autism.
- Voluntary youth work 2010: Over four years as a youth worker in a church, looking after children from 6 months, to the age of 11, at Sunday school. This involved interacting and entertaining the children, which I really enjoy. It also gave me lots of babysitting!
