I am an Ofsted Registered childminder trading as Unique Childcare with over 12 years of experience in providing high-quality care. I am passionate about offering a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for children. I recently received a GOOD rating in my September 2024 Ofsted inspection, reflecting my commitment to delivering excellent care. My setting is located in a prime area, just opposite the Tottenham football grounds, with easy access to public and private transportation. We are less than a minute’s walk from the High Road and just a three-minute walk to White Hart Lane train station.
At Unique Childcare, I provide free early years learning for children aged 9 months to 4 years, offering 15 to 30 hours of childcare each week under the government’s free entitlement program. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring that each child's learning and development is supported through thoughtful planning, observation, and assessment.
The environment I create is both homey and professional, designed to make children feel comfortable while encouraging their curiosity. My setting is filled with a wide range of toys and open-ended resources that ignite their imagination and creativity.
We also regularly attend Stay & Play sessions, allowing the children to socialize and develop important social skills. Additionally, we enjoy outings to the nearby public library for Storytime, as well as regular trips to nature parks, animal farms, and local playgrounds. Outdoor exploration is a key part of our routine, as I believe that children thrive when they can engage with the world around them.
My home-based childcare takes place in a spacious, child-friendly lounge located on the ground floor. We also have access to a secure, communal garden where children can enjoy free play in a safe and open space.
My Experience
With over 12 years of experience caring for children aged 0 to 10 years from diverse, multicultural backgrounds, I am committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters children's development. I offer flexible settling-in periods tailored to each child's individual needs, ensuring a smooth transition into childcare. My care covers all stages of early development, from bottle-feeding to introducing solid foods, potty training and preparing children for school readiness. Additionally, I work closely with parents, offering guidance and support to help them access any additional resources or services they may need.
My Qualifications
I have a 1st Degree in Health & Child Development from the University of Greenwich. Have Level 2 Food Hygiene and Advanced Child Protection. I have engaged in the Early Years Professional Development Programme to build my knowledge and understanding of:
• Communication and Language in 2-4 year olds.
• Understanding of Early Mathematics in 2-4 year olds.
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development in 2-4 year olds

My Fees
- Childminding from £9.00 per hour
Full Time Care is charged on a daily rate not hourly. Given upon request

Doris has been a part of our lives for the last ten years, caring for all four of my children from when they were just 8 months old until they started school. Three of them still attend after-school activities and homework support, and they truly feel that the setting is their second home. Doris’ warmth and the nurturing environment she has created are so comforting.
The children are always excited to go there because of the fun activities, exploring the outdoors, and visiting historic sites, animal farms, and museums. My eldest, who’s now 12 and in secondary school, still pops in to visit sometimes.
I’m incredibly fortunate that all of my children received such a strong foundation with Doris. It’s made a big difference in their learning and development as they’ve grown. I am happy to recommend her service to any parent looking for childcare; she is very professional and friendly it’s a place where children truly thrive.

When I was looking for childminders, I visited 10 individuals with my daughter. I loved how Doris immediately went to interact with my child on a personal level, and not just with me. Doris provided enough time during that initial meeting to cover her approach to childcare and safe-guarding practices, while still engaging in positive interplay with my child. I came away feeling extremely positive about the meeting, felt her practices aligned with my personal preferences and was more than happy to engage her services.
I loved the range of ages that my daughter was exposed to while in the care of Doris. I always felt that taking her there was a positive force in my daughter's life. I felt my child's development was in excellent hands, and I highly valued the fact that my daughter was experiencing a broad range of cultural diversity that differed from my own background and experiences.
My daughter is progressing well in all regards, and I believe that Doris has significantly contributed to that development, providing strong, consistent fundamentals vital to the growth of my child, for which I am extremely grateful. I would be delighted to recommend her to other parents.
