My name is Sophie Srivastava and I am a registered childminder on Crymlyn Road. I aim to provide a childminding service that meets the needs of your child/ren and also encourages all children to learn and develop within a home-based environment which is safe and secure to do so. I offer a wide range of activities in which play is an important factor.

I am registered with CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) and I also have a DBS.

My child minding service is offered to boys and girls, and are open to families from all different backgrounds. I may be able to care for children with special needs, depending on the circumstances. I work in partnership with parents to develop a routine that both works well at home and with my setting, these are developed taking into account meal and nap times also any school runs which may need to take place.

I live with my husband Daniel, and our daughter. My husband is also DBS checked, although he goes to work Monday to Friday and therefore does not spend much time with the children in my care. I have three small breed dogs, who are loving family pets. They are fully up to date with their vaccines. They are kept separate from the children in my care and they spend the day in an alternative room in my house and/or in the garden. Sometimes they come in for supervised visits with the children. If a parent has any concerns I’d be more than happy to discus them with you. I have a large enclosed garden for the children to play in. I have a range of outdoor toys and activities and also have a wide range of indoor toys and activities.

Within my house I use several rooms for childminding. Which are the hallway, lounge/playroom, kitchen, downstairs bathroom and the annex play room.

I have a range of carseats suitable for varies ages. I am willing to do school pick-ups and drop offs. Cots, prams and high chairs are also available for the age appropriate children.

My service includes daytime meals, regular outings, breakfast club, after school club, school pick-ups and drop-offs. I also provide part or full time care for babies and toddlers, also during the school holidays. My usual hours are between 8am - 5:30pm, on weekdays. However, I am prepared to adapt my hours within reason to suit my families needs. I will negotiate an individual contract depending on your needs. My setting is English speaking, however I aim to involve the Welsh language also to the best of my ability.

I provide a range of outings such as going to the local parks, woods, beach, attending play groups, etc. I also provide activities such as role play, cooking, puzzle games, musical, educational television, arts and crafts and many more.
