About Me
I am mum to a seven year old boy and a four year old girl. My partner and I adopted our children in Summer 2019, they have settled into our family and are doing amazingly well, with a wonderful bond.
My Requirements
Trying to find some support after school 3 to 4 days a week to help my partner and I who are working full-time around childcare. The most important thing to us is that we find the right person.
Ideally we would like someone who could be available to collect our children from school at 3 pm and bring them back to our house to look after them until 5.30/6.
It is likely that for the next 3-6 months at least either my partner or I will be working at home upstairs so could be available if needed in a crisis.
Our son has some challenging behaviours and can become deregulated, but he responds to a loving and child-focused approach, and to safe boundaries. He is imaginative, kind and very caring towards his sister and when calm he is sociable, and eager to please. He enjoys the company of adults and likes to play with other children, although he can struggle with transitions. Our daughter is funny, sociable and independent, she is very close to her brother. Our children had a difficult start in life and were not always provided with the care and attention they needed, much of our sons difficulties stem from attachment trauma.
