About Me

I am currently working part-time, so only looking for a role to fit in with that.

I am a friendly person with a happy bubbly personality. I'm open-minded towards new challenges and self-improvement. I am a confident, reliable and honest hard working individual that has the willingness to learn and is able to adapt to changes in the work place. I'm a good team player that works well with others and has the ability and experience to work on my own. I cope well in a hectic environment and enjoys challenging situations. I enjoy working with young children and believe I have a natural talent in bonding with them.

My Experience

I am NVQ level 3 qualified in childcare. I have 22 years experience working in a childcare environment. My background consists of working in nursery school settings, teaching childcare courses to adults wanting to work with children, and I have been a nanny since August 2009.

I worked with one family from when the child was 5 and a half months old until she was 4 years and 3 months. My main role was to provide complete care for the child in the employer's home and perform all tasks that correlate to the care of the child. To create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which the she could thrive and develop. Other duties included: preparing bottles when she was younger and care for feeding equipment, changing nappies before she was toilet trained, supervising baths when working later, dressing her appropriately to her activities, washing and ironing the child’s clothes, preparing meals and snacks, supervising meals, cleaning and washing up after meals, scheduling and coordinating activities, transporting her to pre-school and other activities, undertaking appropriate creative activities, undertaking appropriate educational activities with her, undertaking appropriate outdoor activities, planning and supervising rest, bed and nap times, reading to and with the child, tidying her bedroom and play areas, reinforcing appropriate discipline, implementing daily routines, doing housework, running errands. I am still in contact with the family, and often have the little girl and her brother for days out or overnight. I was made redundant from this position due to an addition to the family. My last day was the 30th April 2013.

I have done some long term temporary nanny positions, as well as emergency one off nanny work with an agency.

From January 2014 I worked part-time for a family with 2 children. My main priority is caring for the children, ensuring they have a happy, healthy and safe environment that helps with the progression of their development. Other duties include dressing the children, school runs, scheduling and coordinating activities, preparing meals and snacks, supervising meal times, undertaking appropriate activities throughout the day, holiday activities, changing nappies then supporting toilet training, tidying bedrooms and play areas, implementing daily routines, supervising bath times, running errands, supporting and supervising homework. I keep a diary of eating and activities each day for the parents. I was made redundant in January 2016 due to a change in my employers circumstances.

I started another nanny position 3 days a week, beginning February 2016 looking after 2 boys in Blackheath. My main priority was looking after the children in a happy and healthy environment, taking the eldest to pre-school in the mornings, and going to the children's activities in the afternoon. I was made redundant from this position after just 9 months after a change in the family circumstances.

After that, I went back to my first ever nannying family for a one year contract, until the youngest boy started school. I had the same role as before, with my priority being the children and their happiness and welfare.

I started my next job in August 2017. The boy was 6 when I started, and is an only child. My main role is as a nanny, but I have taken on some more housekeeping responsibilities within this position. I cook fresh healthy dinners for the family every day, and meal plan every Monday to get the shopping I need to do this. I take the child to all after school activities, buy his clothes and take him to all appointments. I support with homework, arrange play dates and plan other activities within holiday periods. Unfortunately due to a change in their circumstances I have just been made redundant February 2020.

I started a new nanny position June 2020, working with 2 boys aged 4 and 1 when I started. The eldest was at school, and went back after lockdown the day that I started. So my day was mainly sole charge care of a 1 year old, doing all nanny duties around looking after him. I would do the afternoon school pick up, and have a few hours with both children in which time I would serve dinner and support them both with eating. I have spent time supporting the eldest child with homeschooling since the last lockdown, while entertaining the 1 year old and carrying on with all nanny duties. I was made redundant January 2021.

I worked in a temporary part-time nanny position which started end of March 2021, and ended 23rd July 2021. I was looking after 2 children after school and when needed as extra during holidays. My main priority was making sure the children were happy and safe, but I also prepared dinner and did housework when asked.

I started a new nanny role 24th August 2021, looking after 2 boys one was 6 and the other 10 months when I started. I mainly looked after the baby, but did school runs and after school care for the older child too. I prepared fresh meals for the family twice a week (the parents cooked the other nights as requested by them) I also did both boys washing and ironing, but no other housework was involved. I left due to relocating.

My husband was offered a transfer with his work that we just could not refuse. We moved to Winthorpe in Nottinghamshire in October 2021, and we are loving the change of pace and scenery. I am hoping to continue nannying, whether it be just after school or full time.

I worked a short term role for 3 months looking after 2 children May-July 2022. I did washing and ironing in the afternoon before picking the children up from school. I then prepared and cooked dinner so the children ate before the parents got home.

I started my current job at the end of August 2022. I have been working with a blended family, with two older boys and one younger girl. The older children are with us every other week, the youngest every week Monday-Thursday. My main responsibility has been to look after the youngest child, doing before and after school hours term time and then full days in the holiday periods. I cook for the whole family, do all the washing and ironing, as well as a few household jobs when it is needed. I have done the online shopping orders, making meal plans depending on the different weeks. Unfortunately the family’s situation has changed, and I have been made redundant April 2024.

I have 3 goddaughters, and 1 godson. The eldest is 26, so have had a lot of years of babysitting too :-)
