About Me
I am a caring, enthusiastic, creative and reliable individual, and most importantly, love working with and teaching children. I graduated from Exeter University with a BSc in Psychology in 2019, and have been working in a Special Educational Needs School in Exeter for the past year. I am really interested in child development and developmental psychology, and at some point in the future aim to undertake a doctorate in educational psychology.
I have always had a passion for maths and have recently started both maths tutoring and nannying.
My Experience
Maths was always my strongest subject at school, achieving A* at both GCSE and A-level, and first class grades in my university maths modules. I've always loved maths and have a very good understanding of it, making me a very capable tutor. I am currently teaching maths to a GCSE student who is homeschooled.
I have also worked with children in multiple different setting for years. While I was still at school I helped out at the after school care for the primary school children. During my degree I led a volunteer run art club for primary school aged children, in which we went to various primary schools across Exeter and would do weekly craft activities with children aged 4-11. In 2018 I worked for a month at the Neurodevelopment Assessment Unit in Cardiff, which worked with children with developmental issues to help them get the support they need. My degree in Psychology covered several modules about children's development and also included several maths models. My past year working in a special school has given me great experience working with primary school aged children, and children with additional needs.
My Qualifications
10 A* GCSEs in mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, english literature, english language, history, music, art and french.
3 A* A levels in maths, history and chemistry
First class degree in Psychology BSc from the University of Exeter.
My Availability
I am currently available most evenings after 4:30, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 9-2:30 and Monday and Wednesday between the hours of 12 - 2:30. I'm also available weekends. I can offer sessions both in person, deepening on location, and online.
