I work with my wife at GT Childcare and Education.

‘We provide the very best child care services possible in order to promote each child’s health, emotional and physical security, happiness and individual development.

We are both registered childminders and both our latest Ofsted reports have been ‘outstanding. We are highly qualified and strive to offer flexible, quality care and education for children, tailoring the care to the needs of the child and individual families.

We also offer wrap around care, where we take the children to school and collect them afterwards. We provide them with a hot home cooked tea, (included in the fees). We also provide care in the school holidays, if you require it.

Our setting is based in a spacious detached house with a fully enclosed rear garden. Our house consists of a playroom, downstairs cloakroom, conservatory and a large open plan lounge/dining room and kitchen. In the garden are covered areas for outdoor play in all weathers and a log cabin which brings the indoors a little more outdoors. The playroom is aimed towards ‘pre-school’ aged children offering early reading and writing, letters, sounds, name recognition and phonics.

Our conservatory is aimed more towards babies and younger children offering low level open shelving to promote an enabling environment. The log cabin is aimed towards the older children provided a mature space with a variety of more challenging games and interests. We have a sensory ‘Den’ creating a visual, tactile and sound area for all. Children are free to access and experience all areas of our setting.

We are located in a residential area within walking distance from the local school we service and the town centre with shops, cafes, the library, church, parks and recreational areas which includes a wooded walk around a lake with a variety of waterfowl and wildlife.

Access into our setting is via the front door where a low hand rail and step has been installed to enable toddlers easier access and give independence. The ground floor only is used and is mostly open plan on a flat level floor area. Access to the garden area is via a rear door where the floor area outside has been raised to provide a flat lever surface for toddlers accessing the garden with one low step to the patio. The grass area is artificial allowing free play year round for all children walking or crawling as water on it drains and dries very quickly.

We are very hard working individuals, who are loving, caring and sensitive to the children in our care and between us have achieved 4 ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted inspection grades. Lynne is level 4 in childcare and education and Mathew is level 3. We work in partnership together both combining our skills and qualifications to make our setting unique. Working together we are registered to care for 12 children under 8 years old, with not more than 6 of these under 5 years.

We offer full time, part time and term time only care. We consider ourselves to be flexible and sensitive to the requirements of working parents by offering occasional and emergency childcare cover. We offer wrap around care, walking children to and collecting children from school. We provide breakfast, lunch, snacks and a hot home cooked tea all included within our fees.

We are dedicated to providing a comfortable and happy environment and our setting not only stimulates educational growth, but encourages friendship, mutual respect and safety for all. Our children are happy, cared for and provided with the best learning opportunities. We are here to assist in their learning journey giving them the freedom to explore and develop in a warm and caring environment.

We provide a wide range of activities that enable the children to gain rich experiences and learning opportunities following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our rooms reflect the spirit of children and support their developmental needs. We prepare the environment so that it offers stimulating, challenging materials and activities and we strive to make education fun.

Not only do we play and encourage the children to flourish, we use the wider environment to teach them the valuable life skills. We believe outings are an integral part of our ethos and the children relish these opportunities to go and learn about the world around us gaining first hand experiences.

As parents ourselves we can understand the needs and anxieties you may have when leaving your children in somebody else's care. We, like you, want the very best for our children, confident in the knowledge that they are safe, happy, are reaching their full potential.
