About Me
Hello, my name is Angela.
I am the mother of three grown up children. I loved being a stay at home mother to my children. However when my children started school I started working as a Learning Support Assistant for a child with special needs and I found that I absolutely loved working with children and their families. It is a role that feels purposeful and I take the responsibility that is inherent in working with children and their families seriously.
My Experience
I like to think that I am an empathic team-worker. I have extensive experience working with children and their families in both educational and healthcare settings where I have undertaken training and learnt skills from colleagues. I am enthusiastic about supporting children in a positive manner and helping them to fulfill their upmost potential.
I have worked in the following roles:-
- Early Years Educator in a nursery which was attached to a primary school.
(1998-2016 - supporting the needs of the class teacher, children and parents. Plus working as a Learning Support Assistant for a child with special educational needs).
- Paediatric Physiotherapy Assistant - Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
(2016-2018 - Supporting the Paediatric Physiotherapy Service in providing physiotherapy management (0–19yrs). Working in a variety of settings including on the children’s wards at St Mary’s Hospital, outpatients, children’s homes as well as both special and mainstream schools).
- Speech & Language Therapy Assistant - Barnet Children's Speech and Language Department
(2018-2019 - Supporting Banet’s Speech and Language therapy in primary schools with both individual and groups of children).
I have experience of working with children with; Allergies, ADHD, autism, speech and language difficulties and Cerebral Palsy etc.
My Qualifications
I completed a NVQ Level 3 in Child Care Learning and Development in 2011. I have since studied an Early Years foundation degree (distinction) and extended this with a top up BA degree in Working with Children Education and Well-being Route (first class honours).
My Availability
As a mother myself I am aware that family life requires flexibility and therefore am happy to be adaptable.
