About Me

Hello , my name is Karen. I am a registered childminder and I live in Darby Green near Blackwater. I have 1 vacancy starting from Jan 2024.
I have 17 years experience in looking after children from various backgrounds. I thoroughly enjoy being a part of the children’s early life and helping them develop and explore different things.
My daughter lives with me at home she is 21 old . My son is 23 yrs old and owns his own house . We own two dogs both shih-tzu’s, they are great with children, they are called Ted and Max.
We live in a 3 bedroom semi detached house with a lovely garden that backs onto open fields.
In our lounge we have a variety of toys, that children love to play with. It covers a range of educational, imaginative, and creative play that will stimulate your child in their development and interests. I have books if they just want to chill out and snuggle on the sofa. Or there is the garden which has decking and Astro turf, garden toys for them to explore and to continue their learning and to run around and enjoy the freedom. There is a slide, playhouse, sit on bikes, water table. In the warmer months a paddling pool and splash pad comes out. Messy play can be inside as well as on the decking area, lots of arts and crafts, play doh, cooking etc.
I like to get out with the children as much as possible and meet up with other childminders so they can socialise with variety of children .I like to take the children on picnics, to parks, play gyms, soft play, farms, local walks into the woods etc.
I offer a home from home nurtured environment which helps the child to feel relaxed and confident and allow their development to grow, which will in turn leave you to do your job effectively and feel confident that your child/ren are having lots of fun.
I have an open door policy,so if you have any worries and concerns, I am here to help at any time .
