About Me

Dear family,
My name is Mariem, I am 26 years old and I’m from Spain.
I don't have siblings, but I've always been working with children since 2014. I started taking care of children as a volunteer. Volunteering consists of teaching Spanish to women. While their moms learned Spanish, I used to take care of their children twice a week in a non Profit daycare center. I have been collaborating with them until November 2019. We had a great time, we played, we sang or we did the schoolwork. Also, I changed the babies' nappies. The ages of the children who came to the nursery were between 0 and 7 years.
When I finished high school, I decided to study Law. When I started college, my parents and I decided that I should start living alone. Thus I would learn to be more autonomous and responsible. I have always been very active and hard-working, so during the summer, I taught children in my town math. I am a Spanish and Arabic native speaker and advance speaker in English.
In my last year at the University (2018) I worked every day for 12 weeks during the summer babysitting three great children. The older brother was 10 years old and the two little girls are twins and 3 years old. We had a lot of fun. In the morning we used to go to the park or the pool until lunchtime. I prepared food for them and we all ate together. Then the little girls slept a little nap and the older boy and I played European football, helping him with summer homework, puzzles ... When the girls woke up, we would snack and go out to play again until the parents arrived. Also, the kids and I made cakes, especially the chocolate cake with Oreo cookies, it's delicious!. I currently have a very good relationship with the family and we are still in touch with WhatsApp and sometimes I will visit them at home. I have experience in caring for children from 0 years to thirteen years, girls and boys too.
I have been in the UK since July 2020 and I was working as a nanny live in taking care of a lovely girl who is 8 years old. I have an excellent relationship with, who was, my host family. Also, I was working with two lovely brothers, a girl who is 2 years old and a boy who is 4.
My family and friends say that I am a very responsible, attentive, and loving person. I love spending time with children and learning everything they can teach me every day. They learn a lot from us, but we learn more from them than we think. To me, it is wonderful to see them growing up with us and learning, little by little, to be more independent.
Besides childcare experience, I also love reading books and newspaper every day when I have some leisure time, watching movies, traveling and learning about other cultures and ways of life, meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences, going out with friends, or preparing lunch or dinner with my family or with my friends too. Tortilla española is my specialty, children love it for dinner :).
I like sports. I love football, handball, basketball, bicycle ... Honestly, I like all sports, and if I have never played it, I can learn it quickly.
I like a healthy lifestyle, I don't smoke or drink any kind of alcohol.
