About Me
Hi my name is Helen and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live in a lovely detached family home with my husband and two sons aged 10 and 16. I understand that trusting the care of your child to someone else is one of the greatest decisions you will make. Having 2 children of my own and having used childcare services myself I understand the thoughts and feelings of parents.
Here at Little Legges childcare I offer and warm and welcoming child friendly environment with a dedicated playroom that has access directly into our lovely fully enclosed garden.
I have a wide range of educational toys including a sandpit, mud kitchen, puppet theatre, outdoor drawing area and much more. I will be focusing on their educational development and drawing on my experience in the EYFS, this will be fun learning. I take children out most days to various places like play groups, soft play, libraries, gymnastics and music dance classes.
Expanding the natural creativity of children's minds is also one of the key focus areas I have. I achieve this through the use of role play, arts and crafts and outdoor learning. I know through experience that children learn best when they are involved in hands on learning in a safe and supportive environment.
I provide a happy and safe setting that enables children of all abilities to achieve their learning potential.
My Experience
My professional experience comes from working within the EYFS in an outstanding primary school and prior to that I worked with vulnerable adults with special educational needs.
My time spent working in the primary school has included working with children with special education needs on a one to one basis and I have gained valuable insight into how the EYFS curriculum works.
My Qualifications
NVQ level 3 in Health and social care
Pediatric first aid trained
Safeguarding and prevent trained
Positive handling trained

My setting is open from 8-5.30pm Monday to Thursday.

Well where do I start,Helen made my returning to work at really short notice really easy. On first meeting Helen she was warming and caring and everything I hoped for. as a first time mum I wasn't ready to let isla-mae go,but she took to Helen and her home perfectly. Helen and isla-mae became firm friends quickly. Isla-mae learnt so much from being with Helen and all the other children and she's now transitioned to nursery ready for school next year.
Isla-mae loved going to all the many groups they visited and this helped her socialise amazing(she was a lockdown baby)
Although isla-mae hasn't been to Helens for a while now,she still asks about Helen most days or remembers things they did together.
I would highly recommend Helen to everyone who wants a warm,inviting setting with someone who genuinely cares for your children

My son started with Helen at the age of 9 months, he is now 3 and is transitioning to Nursery school. Helen has been very supportive throughout our time with her, she is very flexible and she always went above and beyond to help us out as a family and with Myles.
Myles has loved spending four days a week with Helen and always ask to attend her setting. Helen has a lovely family home, which is welcoming, warm and friendly. She provides lots of different activities and attends playgroups to suit the children for that day, which is absolutely great for Myles learning and social skills.
I am so sad that the first part of Myles journey has come to an end.
We want to say a big thank you to Helen and her wonderful family x
