My Summary
About Me
Hello, I'm Amy. I love to learn, be creative and have fun. I am a qualified primary school teacher and have taken time out of the classroom to look after my little boy, Harry, and have recently completed an MA in Education. I pride myself on teaching in interactive and interesting ways, with a range of practical resources and feel face to face tutoring enables me to build a stronger relationship, crucial to academic progress. I work with children with a range of specific learning needs and with individuals where social, emotional or behavioural difficulties create a barrier to accessing education. I am able to meet the needs of all children, helping them grow in confidence and enabling them to achieve their very best. I am particularly passionate about promoting the STEM (Science, Maths, Engineering and Technology) subjects and I am a qualified Primary Mathematics Specialist Teacher (MaST). I love indoor climbing and have recently been coaching trampolining. To relax, I enjoy yoga and origami as well as watching films in my PJs!
My Experience
Qualified primary teacher with 13 years teaching experience in an inner city school. I also have experience as an intervention tutor in KS1 and KS2. I am a Primary Mathematics Specialist Teacher (MaST) and promote my love of mathematics and have experience lecturing on teacher training courses. I am experienced working with children who face a variety of challenges. I have enjoyed working with home schooled children, those whose needs are not met in education and with individuals who need to be nurtured to achieve their full potential.
