About Me
My name is Emma Breedon, I have recently re-registered as a childminder through Ofsted.
I live with my Husband Ken, my son Kenny (16) and our 8 year old Cavapoo dog Izzy, I have lived in Selston for the past 19 years and know the area very well.
My Experience
I've worked with Children for over 29 years, the past 15 years I've worked at Underwood C of E Primary School as Play Leader for the Wrap Around Care, I originally registered as a childminder back in 2011 as I was in high demand to offer holiday provision for the parents/children at the school and surrounding areas, this proved to be very popular, however I got to busy to continue at home so I stop Childminding and decided to register with Ofsted to run Selston Holiday Fun Club at Selston Parish Hall
In 2020 just before Covid hit I decided on a career change and finished working at Underwood C of E Primary School and got myself a new Job however during Covid I have since been made redundant and have been unable to continue so far with the Holiday Fun Club, as I was missing working with children I decided to re-register as a full time child minder.
As a busy mother of three and a grandma to two, I am well aware of the demands and responsibilities involved in caring for children. I have no doubt that the experiences that I have had already with bringing up my own children help me in my role as a childminder. There is a large age difference between my eldest and youngest child and understand how challenging it can be to care for children with varying abilities, needs and interests.
My Qualifications
I have completed my level 3 in Child Care Leaning and Development
I have held certificates in Pediatric first Aid, Safeguarding and food hygiene for the past 20 years with no gaps in between, so I am aware of all the changes made over the years.
I believe it is vitally important to continue to further my training and refresh my skills in order for me to provide a good quality childcare service
