About Me
Hello!
My name is Sarah and I offer day-time tutoring services (online / at home) for children who are home-schooled, aged 4-11 (nursery, EYFS and KS1, KS2)
Reading, phonics, writing, communication skills, number and maths. These are the essential building blocks that your child needs to progress in their learning.
They are the cornerstones that will allow your child to further develop their interest and pleasure in learning. These skills will see them through childhood and into adulthood.
I can offer support for you and your child using my knowledge of teaching (25yrs+) and my understanding that each child is unique and that each child is very special.
Over the last few years, the number of children being home-schooled in the UK has risen dramatically. Parents may choose to home-school for a variety of reasons. These may include a life-choice, moving away from what some may see as a too rigid educational programme, a desire to allow more flexibility in your child's learning and growth. Parents may feel their child's needs are not being met by the traditional system or perhaps their child is unable to cope with the classroom environment.
Whatever the reason, I can provide sessions (in person or online) for your child during the day, to support you and your child in your home-school journey.
I am a qualified primary school teacher who has taught in a local primary school as well as having personal experience in home-schooling.
I have taught in all year groups, nursery to year 6, as well as delivering 1:1 tutoring sessions for children in the evening. I have also specialised in delivering sessions to support children with SEND requirements (those with an NHS Speech and Language therapy plan, ADHD, Autism)
Hourly sessions for children aged 4-11 (nursery, EYFS and KS1, KS2) :
1. Providing tailored provision, that dovetails with the learning you are already providing. I will bring resources with me or can use your own resources if you prefer.
2. Support with interventions for Speech and Language Therapy. Includes tutoring to current SALT plan, session planning, resources for sessions and home learning, session delivery.

My Experience
Qualified Primary Teacher, BEd Hons, previously Deputy Head of a private nursery school. Worked with a local primary school (10 years full-time) with working experience in all year groups. Alongside this, a focus on delivering interventions for Speech & Language therapy. 4 years 1:1 private tutoring.
