My Requirements

Childcare - could be required from 4-9 pm or any part of those hours at short notice but with no expectation you would be available so don’t feel bad about saying no!! I am a vet and am often called out to visits same or next day so request would more then likewise be short notice (anything from several hours to can you come straight over?!!) although some visits are planned ahead. To that end, I’m wondering if it’s best for me to develop a “bank” of people I could message when a call comes in and see who’s available? I don’t get evening calls very often at all, but occasionally may be as many as two evenings a week.

It would be tea, bedtime routine, and then once kids are in bed helping around the house as much as possible if there is anything that needs doing like tidying, washing up, laundry, keeping the fire going or dishwasher. We are a very tidy and clean family and keep on top of these things after every meal. Letting the dog out for a wee, feeding her and giving her a cuddle may be required!! If you have other work and can’t come until 6ish that’s ok but I prefer to get out on evening calls by 5 if possible. It’s super-important that you’re reliable and communicate effectively and that my kids actually like you!! So would need to come to the house to meet us after school one day.

I may need your help every other weekend, too, as I have the kids every other weekend and remain on call, but I can often take kids with me if needed so not a problem if not.

I usually pay £12.50/h cash at the time.

Dog sitting on weekends occasionally or even through the week during holidays could be a possibility for the right person if you’re interested in doing that.
