About Me
Hi my name is Shirley I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder with over 30 years experience, I live opposite Darlington College with my husband and one cat, we have 4 grown up children between us and 4 beautiful Grandchildren, my oldest granddaughter who is 12 doesn’t live close so occasionally comes to stay in the holidays and loves spending time with the minded children. My aim is to provide a home from home friendly environment for your child whilst in my care where they will feel happy, safe, secure and have lots of fun whilst learning and developing in those important early years.
My Experience
I have many years of experience firstly of being a Nanny before having my own 2 children then of Childminding since 1994 i have various references, letters etc given to me over the years in my own file for prospective parents to view, I've looked after babies from 2-4 weeks old so lots of experience with babies and children across all ages and stages of development.
My Qualifications
I have an NVQ Level 3 in childcare and education,a current peadiatric first aid certificate also current safeguarding, food safety with a recent inspection getting 5* plus numerous other certificates i have gained over the years and training i have done, i keep up to date with all relevant training which is an important part of my job.
My Availability

**Part time space available from September 2025**
My usual days/ hours are Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 5.30 pm but an earlier finish on Thursdays around 4-4-30. There’s flexibility for earlier starts (to be discussed) and for less hours if required. (Minimum of 6 per day charged for)

Shirley goes above and beyond her duty of care, my son loves going and we get pictures and update messages, she does activities all day with him and takes him to soft play and play groups, i thought my son was going to be funny going as always wants to be with me but after only 2 setions he runs upto the house with a big smile on his face and walks into Shirley s house as if to say bye dad you can go now!!! I would highly recommend Shirley shes made us feel so happy that we no hes getting 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ care
