About Me
Are you a compassionate, experienced, and flexible nanny seeking a truly rewarding role? We are a warm, dynamic family in Walthamstow looking for a dedicated, proactive nanny to support our two children – a lovely 4-year-old girl and a funny 6-year-old boy, who has recently been diagnosed with ASD and possibly ADHD. This role involves a balance of childcare, mentorship, tutoring, and some household assistance.
My Requirements
Role Details:
• Location: Walthamstow Village, London
• Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday), with occasional evenings and weekends (time off in lieu)
• Children: Girl, aged 4; Boy, aged 6 (ASD and possibly ADHD)
• Family Dynamics: Mum works from home most days; Dad works from home occasionally. We have a friendly cat.
Key Responsibilities:
• Care for our daughter, who is at school from 8.30 am to 3.15 pm, with typical age-appropriate activities (play, crafts, etc.), playdates, and taking her to activities.
• Provide support and guidance for our bright 6-year-old son, catering to his neurodivergent needs, including flexible schooling (2 hours a day) and home tutoring sessions, supported by weekly learning boxes.
• Engage the children in fun, educational, and physical activities, including Forest School, art, and play-based learning.
• Assist with co-regulation, offering calm, patient support to our son during moments of heightened anxiety or demand avoidance.
• Be a nurturing and empathetic presence, building meaningful relationships with both children, especially our son, who thrives on connection and trust.
• Collaborate with the parents on routines, learning plans, and strategies to ensure a consistent and loving approach to care.
Ideal Candidate:
• Experience with children who have ASD and/or ADHD, or a strong understanding of special educational needs.
• Calm, fun, and able to maintain a relaxed environment, even during challenging moments (tantrums, anxiety, etc.).
• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working as part of a team with the parents.
• Able to support the boy’s learning and development in a gentle, supportive manner.
• Comfortable working within a family team and with occasional shifts in schedules.
• Happy to assist with light household duties, such as cooking, tidying up and laundry
• Full driver’s licence required (occasional driving will be necessary).
• A strong desire to be a mentor and role model for both children, with a nurturing attitude.
Why Join Us?
• A supportive, creative, and family-oriented home environment.
• Flexible, understanding parents who work hard to create a balanced, stress-free atmosphere.
• The chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of two fantastic children.
• We are looking for someone who can bring fun, warmth, and a collaborative spirit to our family.
If you’re passionate about working with children, have experience in co-regulating and supporting a child with ASD/ADHD, and are excited to become part of our close-knit family, we would love to hear from you!
