My Experience

I have approximately 10 years worth of experience within childcare. I have studied a BTEC National Diploma in Childcare, Learning and Development (whilst completing this course I cared for children in many early years settings, including schools and nurseries). Following this, I gained a Level 5 Diploma in Healthcare Sciences via The University of Nottingham, studying BSC Children’s Nursing (3 months from completion as a Paediatric Nurse). This required me to complete various placements caring for children with a vast range of health conditions (working in both clinical and non-clinical environments). Furthermore, I have approximately 2 1/2 years worth of experience working as a nursery practitioner and room lead (within baby, 2-3 and 3 year old rooms) within two nurseries (changing only due to change of living location) where I was also very keen to support children with learning disabilities e.g. Autism and children with impairments such as hearing, enabling them to reach their full potential at this vital time in life which equally was so rewarding to see, and;
Now currently work as a Theatre Support Worker within Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
I also have 2 years experience working as a Healthcare Assistant with adults and 11 years experience working as a Catering Assistant providing the public and staff with nutritious meals, ensuring all needs are met e.g. cultural/dietary.
I have also completed many courses over this time e.g. Safeguarding, First Aid, Speech and Language, Cultural Capitalism, The Curiosity Approach and many more.
