My Summary
About Me
Professional Postnatal support, Nannying and babysitting for your family.
I'm a friendly, caring teaching assistant, nanny & mum! Enhanced DBS. 10 years experience in education- babies to university level. French speaking if required (English is my first language though!).
*** Please get in touch on 7526933791 to see if I can help your family***
I'm kind and compassionate with a lot of patience. When I get time out from being a mum, I spend my time outdoors- walking, open water swimming, kayaking, yoga. I'm equally in my element when snuggled up with a good book!
Having a background in science, exploring nature alongside children is my passion. Nature sparks so many interesting conversations and opportunities for play. Bedtime stories are also an absolute must, it's the most magical part of the day.
I know how hard it is to be a parent, and will do anything I can to help you out at home- washing, cooking, cleaning, tidying, playing, educating your little ones, and helping them to thrive.
If you feel I could support your family in any way, I'd love to have a chat and get to know you all!

***Nannying - day & evening***
Childcare in your own home- experience from newborn to older children. I started this service after struggling to find a babysitter for my own family. I realised how hard it was to find someone responsible, caring and experienced who I could trust to look after my own children. Most babysitters are teenagers, and this just wasn't a scenario I was comfortable with. Being experienced in childcare, I started offering babysitting services and have found this to be very popular amongst like-minded parents.
From £20/hr
***Postnatal support***
I provide hands on baby-care, emotional support and guidance for parents, help with older children, household chores, food orders& shopping, light cooking, running errands, night feeds, babysitting. I adapt to the needs of each family- whatever makes things a little bit easier on exhausted parents in the early stages!
My primary role is to care for the mum, so she is well nourished, well informed and supported- so she can be the best mum and enjoy the experience so much more. I let you recover- rest, sleep and shower. I nurture you with wholesome food, to help mum's recovery and give you the energy you need to take care of a newborn. I do everything I can to make your life easier, so all you need to do is feed your baby, sleep, and soak up those precious moments that go by too fast!
I am a calm, reassuring presence in those early months. I provide new parents emotional support. I listen, guide and encourage, whilst signposting you to resources, support networks and further care options if you need them.
Modern society rushes new parents to bounce back. Families rarely have the support networks of local friends/family they so need in the early stages. All too often, visitors are just there for the baby, but I am the one who is there for the parents.
I mainly help families in the early months following your baby's birth, but sometimes for much longer. It's never too soon or too late- if you think I could help you, please get in touch.
From £25/hr
***Mother's help***
I'm an extra pair of hands around the house, to make parents lives easier. Can include light cooking, tidying, laundry, shopping/food orders, entertaining children, running errands, light cleaning.
From £20/hr
My Experience
I have degrees in science and previously worked in research and teaching in higher education since 2014. After becoming a mum myself, I took the opportunity to work with younger children, and I absolutely love it. I am a part-time teaching assistant in a school, with children from 4-11 years. My specialism is reading, phonics and speech& language (including English as an additional language - i.e. when English is not spoken at home).
I have provided private babysitting/childcare for the past 15 years, and now also offer postnatal support. I work mainly with newborn to school age. I support the family unit as a whole by helping with baby-care, household tasks, and primarily looking after mum. I'm passionate that parents should have access to this type of support in the early months after childbirth, and I see first hand what a difference it has on their physical and mental well-being in those challenging early days.
My Qualifications
Previously a scientist, I have a Doctorate and BSc in science-based subjects. I was educated and spent my childhood in France (English is my first language, French my second)
CPD/work based training in:
child protection and safeguarding,
child nutrition,
ADHD/dyslexia/Autism awareness,

perineal pain and treatment,

Emmy cared for my 4 year old and my friend's 19 month old while we vacationed in Oxford for the weekend. Emmy was able to make both girls feel secure and comfortable from the moment they met her. Both have very different needs because of the age difference but Emmy was able to provide for them with ease equally. When Emmy arrive the second day my daughter wanted to introduce her to all our other friends, she was so proud, that was special.
It was my first time hiring a nanny while on vacation, Emmy made me feel at easy and communicated so eloquently. I highly recommend Emmy, I only wished she lived close to me. Thank you Emmy

Response by Emmy on 30/10/2024:
Thank you Sonya for such a lovely review. It was a privilege to care for your daughter, and your friends daughter, recently. I appreciate the trust it takes to leave your children in the hands of someone new, whilst in a new country too. Thank you for choosing me! Both girls were a delight to be with.
Emmy worked as a part-time nanny for our two-year-old daughter for nine months between January and September 2024. We are extremely sad that she was unable to continue with us; this is only because we needed to move to a full-time nanny (due to both having another child and our daughter’s nursery cutting hours) and Emmy has other commitments.
We cannot recommend Emmy highly enough. She offers far more than childcare, teaching our daughter early lessons, arts and crafts and cooking (having fun preparing meals together has made our daughter much less fussy about eating). She is a wonderful person - extremely caring, nurturing and endlessly patient - and our daughter loves spending time with her. However, neither is she a pushover but will always carefully explain why something needs to be done. There is no doubt that Emmy has been a very positive influence on our daughter’s development and any child would be very lucky to have her in their life.
Emmy helped us with wraparound care when my work schedule clashed with my partner's; she would get our 3 yo and 5 yo ready in the mornings, driving them to school and nursery, and then picking them both up and bringing them home. She'd get them settled, cook and manage dinnertime, and with it handled sibling squabbles with such ease. Emmy also coped amazingly with my son's big feelings; he has SEN so huge afterschool meltdowns are commonplace, but Emmy was calm and reassuring, helping him through them without any stress.
Communication with Emmy is always totally clear and very prompt, and she would send a summary at the end of each day which was really valuable. The kids absolutely loved having her and are always singing their new favourite bathtime song which she taught them! We'll have Emmy back in a heartbeat!

Response by Emmy on 27/09/2024:
Thank you for your kind words Claire! I loved supporting your family when you needed an extra pair of hands this past month. It's been an absolute pleasure, your children were both wonderful to be around and I'm excited to be part of your longer term support network.
Emmy has been an amazing help and support since welcoming my baby. She has not only looked after my baby to allow me to rest or do household jobs but also arrived with delicious banana bread and nutritious food to keep me sane! Would recommend her to anyone.
Emmy looked after our 3 year old and she excelled our expectation. She plans ahead, communicates well and provides comprehensive feedbacks, which is not commonly seen with nannies we have employed. She introduced many fun and educational activities like planet cupcakes and colour experiments during her time with our son, and dealt really well with toddler emotions. She applied a calm and firm approach which was very well received. I highly recommend Emmy as a nanny with exceptional professionalism, creativity and reliability.

Thank you for your kind words! It's always a pleasure to look after your son. He engages so well with activities and shows such enthusiasm for our day trips. He makes my job easy! I'm thrilled you're happy with my services. I'm very pleased to have found your lovely family and look forward to supporting you all even more over the coming months (and hopefully longer term!).
Kindest,
Emmy
