About Me
Hello, I'm Kay-Marie Rigby, a registered childminder based in Lytchett Matravers. With eight years of experience teaching Key Stage 1 and Reception, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in nurturing young minds.
My childminding setting offers a warm and welcoming home from home environment, where children can feel comfortable and secure. I believe that learning through play is essential for a child's development, and I provide a range of engaging activities to promote their learning journey.
I am married with a 3-year-old daughter, and am a full-time guardian to our 12-year-old niece. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all children, so they can flourish and develop the essential skills that will set the foundation for their future success.
Your child's well-being and safety will always be my top priority, with secure relationships being built, as well as fun and engaging learning experiences being a huge part of everything that we do. I am a reliable, understanding, and conscientious person who takes children’s welfare and development seriously.
Our household includes a friendly 14-year-old cat, adding an extra touch of joy and companionship for little ones. I have thoughtfully designed a playroom to foster creativity and learning, and our home provides additional space for children to explore and grow.
Not to forget, we are blessed with a spacious garden, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures. I believe that connecting with nature is crucial for a child's development, and our outdoor area allows children to have fun while embracing the wonders of the natural world.

My Experience
As well as being a mother, prior to becoming an Ofsted registered childminder, I was a primary school teacher for 8 years, working in Reception, Year One and Year Two. I have a secure knowledge of child development, the early years curriculum and safeguarding, as well as experience of building positive relationships with children and their families to provide the best care for each child. Prior to becoming a teacher I worked in the care sector, having experience working as a key worker in children's care homes for children between the age of 10 and 18 years old.
