About Me
I have been an Ofsted Registered Childminder since April 2009 and along with an Ofsted approved Assistant provide a home from home environment providing a carefree environment in a dedicated playroom and seperate outdoor playarea. I provide a wide variety of activities and toys incuding messy play, arts and crafts, story and music times, cooking and local outings in our 7-seater.
I can also offer a drop off and collection services from local schools and pre-schools, I currently collect from Hardwick School and Pre-schools (Hardwick Site only).

My opening hours are: 07:30 to 18:00 Monday to Friday

Giulio has been going to Nicola's for 9 months - starting there when he was 10 months. Nicola and her assistants are so friendly and welcoming, and Giulio runs in to play without looking back. Nicola has been so accommodating and flexible, which really helps too - adjusting to Giulio's needs (and continual change of needs as he grows up), and not minding when we're running late from work for pickup (or when I forget all his nappies and spare clothes) etc etc. Giulio loves doing water play outside and going on the slide, and playing with cars, musical instruments, sensory trays, crafts etc etc inside. It is always a busy and buzzing atmosphere, and the kids seem to have a great time. Would highly recommend!

Nicola and her team are wonderful. Jonathan absolutely loves going and rushes out the house on 'Barney house' days (they have a small dog called Barney!). The setting is lovely, with of fun toys and games. They have themed weeks like at Chinese New Year and do messy play, out door and indoor play and go on trips! The service is so flexible, we can drop off and pick up when we need, add extra hours on as and when and we only ever pay for what we use. Nicola can even do prechool and school pick up/ drop off. Jonathan has made lots of friends here, with a mixed age range which I think is lovely. All in all very highly recommended.

I took Riley to Nicola when I went back to work in July 2012....my first child and I was petrified leaving him with someone else. We had an intro visit (me and my hubby and Riley) and she reassured me I could call whenever I wanted, to put my mind at rest!!
After a few weeks, rather than tears when I dropped him off, there were tears when I collected him to take him home :-)
Riley LOVES it at Nicola's home, she is welcoming and mumsy to all 'her kids' !!! and her assistant Shannan is also great with them, very involved i.e. they make pizzas for dinner, scary masks for Halloween etc, which my boy loves!
Nicola is the ONLY flexible childminder I know of (and through friends with young children I have heard about many different ones) - we actually moved house in March this year but returned to Nicola's as the Nursery was a nightmare and Riley missed 'ni-la-la'!! (despite the 20 minute car journey each way!!) If we're late it's not a problem, and we can change days at short notice if we need to - she understands the juggle that parenting can be and makes my life so much easier. Her 2 children and husband are all fantastic with the children and they all put a smile on my son's face.
I get updates on what my little man has been up to each day on a secure website to which I have my own login. I know if he's napped and what he's eaten and what they've been up to, it's lovely. He's off to see Santa with them in a few weeks....lucky boy!!
I would highly recommend Nicola Walker (et al!!) to anyone looking for a childminder in Cambridge.
