About Me
Hello my name is Claire and I am a Primary School Teacher and an Ofsted registered Childminder in Highams Park. As a childminder I aim to provide a unique, child centred, caring environment where children feel loved, valued and safe. Using my background as a teacher I will provide high quality education and care with an exciting and stimulating environment which will ignite children’s enthusiasm for learning. I will spend a lot of time getting to know your child and your family before they start in my setting. This will help me to plan experiences that build on your child’s strengths and meet their needs. My curriculum focuses on language development, physical development, emotional development and depth of learning and will be led by your child’s interests and fascinations. We will explore the world around us, build meaningful relationships and share new and exciting experiences creating long lasting memories. Opportunities for messy, imaginative and creative play will always be available. We have a large garden full of awe and wonder where we will play, explore and investigate daily. I will provide endless opportunities to explore and engage with our community and environment with forests, parks, public transport, play groups, museums, theatres, soft play and much more all on our doorstep. At meal times we will work together to prepare healthy, home cooked meals which we will enjoy together whilst sharing stories of our day. This is the perfect time to connect with one another, developing positive relationships and a sense of belonging.
My Experience
I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2005. After working in children's hospitals I decided to become a primary school teacher and qualified in 2008. I have been a primary school teacher for over thirteen years and adore caring for and supporting children as they develop and grow. I have experience in caring for children from birth to 9 years old. I registered as a childminder with Ofsted in December 2021.
I am the mother of two wonderful children who are seven and three.
My Qualifications
A Levels: A - Maths, A - Biology, B - Chemistry
AS Level: A - Law
2005: Qualified as a Physiotherapist at Birmingham University
2008: Teacher Training
2008 – Present – Primary School Teacher (4 years in Year 1 with 5-6 year olds, 3 years in year 2 with 6-7 year olds and 6 years in Early Years with 3-5 year olds and currently in Early Years).
2022: Ofsted registered childminder.
