My Summary
Fledgling Childcare
About Me
I am an experienced and passionate childcare professional with 8 year experience as a nanny.
I am very hands on when looking after children and love getting down on the floor and involved in their world.
I enjoy getting messy regardless of whether it is making mud pies outside, painting an artistic master peice, cooking a yummy cake or exploring how bake beans feel when you squish them!!
I also enjoy searching for fairies in the garden, fighting dragons who live under beds and racing horses in the park (even if my horse never wins).
Or even hiding inside a pillow fort while enjoying a story, completing a puzzle or game, or having a teddy bear picnic.
I am looking for a family who is happy for me to have my little one who was born in November 2023.
My Experience
I have 8 years of experince being a part-time live out nanny, and during that time I worked for 2 families.
My experinces included looking after children under one year old, caring for siblings and children with SEND needs. I also gained experience with supporting families with weaning, toilet training and sleep training, as well as helping with homework, reading and other household tasks.
I also have experince with completing risk assessment for feild trips and independtly taking children out on trips to places such as local parks, libraries, nature reserves, museums and many more fun places.
Alongside my experience as a nanny, I have worked in nurseries, looking after children from 3 months old to 4 years old. During this time I worked with children with SEND needs, children with English as a second language and furthered my understanding of how to support children's learning and development.
I have worked as a SEND teaching assistant in primary and secondary schools furthering my knowledge of how to support children with additional needs. During this time I worked alongside other professionals, followed EHC plans to support children, and developed and ran interventions to help children thrive in school. This also involved me helping ready children for SATs tests and young adults for GCSEs.
I also have experience with running sports and outside activties as an Outdoors Activity Instructor. This allowed me to further my knowledge of the importance of outside play and accessing outside spaces in all weathers.
I have also worked in family support roles including being an Early Help Support Worker for Kent County Council, Health and Wellbeing Engagement Worker for Barnardos and Healthy Child Practitioner, working alongside the Health Visitors in the NHS.
These roles required me to have an understanding of setting up a range of engaging activties for different age groups to support their learning and development. As well as supporting families with; introducing solids, potty training, sleep training and behaviour management.
My Qualifications
Degree in Education Studies with psychology
Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
Level 2 in food handling and hygiene.
Paediatric First Aid training and first aid at work.
I have also completed many work based training courses and always keep an eye out for professional development opportunties to ensure I am providing the best care possible for the families I work with.
