My Summary

My Experience

Being one of the eldest children of my family, I would always be taking care of my younger siblings from a younger age. Although I was still young when looking after them, I learned what worked with loads of children and how to take care of them.

I have taken care of a family's 4 children before. These children were two sets of twins, aged 2 (although I took care of them until they turned 3 years old) and the second set of twins were aged 1.5 years old.
I would get up in the early morning from Monday to Friday to assist the children's mother with washing the older children, dressing them, brushing their teeth and hair, as well as feeding them before walking them to nursery. I'd do this every morning and then also pick them up from nursery in the evening and leave after getting them ready for bed.

I would take care of the 1.5 year old twins some days during the week by going back to the house after dropping the older twins off at nursery. I would be in charge of feeding them, clothing them, cleaning them, changing them and spending time with them while their parents were at work. I would also tidy up a little around the home and clean up basic messes made during the day as the children slept.

I also spent weekends with the children on a regular basis. I was able to manage my time really well and was able to learn how to handle usually stressful situations when being alone with the children. Multitasking was not uncommon and I was able to develop many other skills, such as relationship building, negotiation and safety skills.

My Qualifications

I have received all of my GCSE's and completed a 2016 BTEC Level 3 Health and Social care National certificate. I received DD* as my final grade.
