About Us
Stonelaw Preschool is a not-for-profit, committee-led nursery based in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire. We provide a safe, secure and caring environment for young children aged between three and five years old.
At Stonelaw Preschool, a South Lanarkshire Council partner nursery, all children are treated as individuals and are placed at the centre of their learning.
All play, care and learning experiences are interwoven. We have an excellent range of resources which offer varied experiences for the children.
This provides each child flexible learning and a balanced curriculum.
We strive to:
- Provide a safe and secure environment in which children feel happy and secure
- Encourage positive attitudes to self and others, developing confidence and self-esteem
- Provide enjoyable and challenging experiences to meet the needs of each individual child
- Promote literacy, numeracy and health & wellbeing throughout each area of the nursery
- Encourage and celebrate children, staff and parent achievements
- Promote and encourage staff development
- Encourage all our children to become successful learners, effective contributors, confident individuals and responsible citizens

Our Fees
- Childcare from £13.50 per afternoon
All of our places are entirely funded by South Lanarkshire Council, so parents don’t have to pay for their children to be cared for during our term-time opening hours of 8:30am and 2:30pm. Our healthy snacks and lunches are free, too.
We also provide optional, affordable wraparound care for children between the hours of 8am and 4pm to help parents and caregivers meet their childcare needs.
Our pre-school care sessions are £8 per day, and £12 per day from 2:30pm until 4pm.

Stonelaw feels like family - it's small, welcoming, and the children get a lot of attention from the lovely staff to help them learn, grow, develop and play.
In just a few months, my daughter has become so much more confident and made so many friends. She can’t wait to start every morning and we can’t wait to hear about her adventures when she gets home.
It's a brilliant wee place and we can't recommend it enough!
