My Summary
About Me
Hi there - I'm Freya, and here's a little about me.
Recently moved to Gloucestershire to a beautiful house and garden, so getting very stuck in with DIY and gardening - which I'm loving (the garden that is!). Enjoying being in the countryside with all the birdsong, having spent 6 years in Bristol, with a previous 6 in London.
My background is in the theatre and HR, with a little marketing and business development thrown in there. I still love the theatre, art and film, big history buff - visits to National Trust properties are my way of winding down. Walking, hiking in our beautiful countryside is a past-time I enjoy, as well as pilates and learning about the garden. I try to be as ethically and sustainably minded as possible - reuse, recycle, making concsious decisions where and how I buy.
Bit of trivia - my favourite colour was purple, for a very very long time, but a recent realisation is that I think it is now green! (A question that has been very much prompted by the kids at the school I volunteer at).
I've always loved kids and wanted to be a Mama myself, ever since I was given my first dolly as a toddler. So being able to help out parents nearby with managing their household would be an absolute pleasure. I'm the kind of person who loves to help, knowing that I've made your life that bit easier. I also love organising, so tidying up after kids, doing the laundry (especially pairing socks!), putting things into their dedicated spot, neat and accessible is my kind of bag. Ultimately I care, and want to see all children thrive and flourish into a well rounded member of society.
My Experience
From 8 months old to 11 years; a child on their own, to three in one household; sole responsibility and occasional joint care. I have watched over all these children with true joy and love - even during the melt-downs. I use patience and reason when interacting with the children - no matter their age, pairing play and education together wherever I can. Activities include baking, water fights, tie-dye, sight-seeing, reading practice, homework help, bathing and putting to bed. Aiding the little ones in their development - weaning, crawling, first steps, swimming, nail cutting. Preparing nutritious lunches, dinners and making puree's. Managing the kids diaries with their appointments and hobbies, taking them in the car for short to medium length journey's.
I also volunteereed at a primary school in Bristol, mentoring students who are on the SEN list. I meet with them 1:1 for an hour a week to work through craft projects, play games, read books and talk, all with the aim to build self-esteem, understanding of their emotions and feelings. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience, I wish we had longer than an hour!
Time spent with these kids truly brings joy to my world.

Freya is amazing, she has been an ad hoc nanny for us mainly over December 22 when we were really busy with our business and she is brilliant, our son (6 months old at the start) absolutely loved having her look after him she devotes her whole attention to him and he was always occupied and happy whenever we saw him. Freya would always do little extras to make our lives easier which as anyone knows is so appreciated. highly recommend 😀
