My Summary
About Me
My name is Jayda, I am 18 years old. I am currently studying midwifery with the hopes of becoming a midwife in the next few years. I am a fun bubbly young woman who enjoys creating strong bonds with the children I have looked after as well as supporting them along their journey as they grow.
To support and further my learning, I have been working in a nursery studying for my level 3 childcare qualification focusing on babies from 3 months to 2 years. The transition to nursery can often be an overwhelming experience for both parents and child so I make it my mission to make it as smooth and reassuring as possible. I spend time creating a fun interactive environment to help settle the babies into the setting. I would work with the parents to create familiar and loving surroundings to help with the change. I enjoy sensory play, helping them discover their senses and singing with the children – it's amazing to see the smiles on their faces when they start to recognise the songs and sing on their own.
I had 5 key children and would be responsible for helping them settle into nursery, maintaining a strong bond with the children and keeping track of their development, progress and reporting this back to their parents by completing regular assessments. I am passionate about being a key figure in the early stages of their life and being there for their first moments.
To further my own development, I moved down to the preschool room to gain experience with older children. This involved teaching them phonics, strengthening their vocabulary, preparing them for the transition to school, teaching them independence and to be responsible with their possessions and surroundings, getting them to recognise personal hygiene for themselves and encouraging them when learning to use the bathroom.
I believe children learn more when they are having fun, feel safe and supported - therefore I try to channel this in everything I do. Furthering their learning through messy play, role play and group activities. I always like to have a flexible routine with the children, encouraging them to make decisions for themselves within boundaries. I love spending time outside and thinking of imaginative activities to do.
Alongside working at nursery, I also have 2 young siblings aged 3 and 10 who I adore. I have been a key figure in bringing them up and am passionate about spending time with them. I love making special memories, taking them to local museums, soft play, the park or just going out on their bikes and scooters.
I am confident in carrying out the daily schedule of children of all ages catering to the individual needs of the child. From making all meals, school/nursery drop offs, bath and bedtime and willing to take on any other duties where required.
I am located close to Anerley Station, Penge East & West and Crystal Palace and know the areas well. I am open to different arrangements that can work around my studies. I would love to talk further if you think I could be right for your family.

Jayda seemed very pleasant and professional in advance of the booking. We had a screening call & I thought she came across well and was expecting positive things for the sit.
Disappointingly she did not turn up. I tried to contact via mobile but there was no answer. She then blocked my number.
This was very disappointing, and a level of unprofessional-ism I would not have expected, & it's left me in a challenging predicament having to try to juggle childcare with work responsibilities. If she couldn't make it I would have expected some notice so that I could have made contingencies.
Very disappointing indeed.
