Hi there!
I am an experienced Childminder/Nanny. I am also a qualified Preschool teacher.
I love arts and craft, being out in nature, cooking, comedy and dancing. I love sharing these activities with the children I work with as well as supporting and learning about their own interests.
Open communication with parents and creating a comfortable, supportive atmosphere for children is my priority when childminding. :)

My Experience
Since finishing university in 2017 I have worked with children in Childcare facilities and Preschools as well as private nannying roles.
In Preschool, I have mainly worked with children between the ages of 2 and 6 years old. I also have significant experience caring for babies from 4 months old and preteens (10-13 years old) - basically, all ages suit me!
I am currently working as a Primary and Junior High School English teacher in Kumamoto, Japan (TELF Certified).
I lived in East London before starting this role last year and will return to London this September (2024).
My Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Early Years and Childhood Studies, University College Cork.
TELF Certified, Currently working teaching English as a second language. (I am experienced in supporting early speech and language development.)
Leadership in Inclusion Coordinator (LINC) (Special needs diploma).
Pediatric First Aid Course.

My Availability
Start date: from September 2024
I am currently seeking a part time nannying/ childminding position for Mondays only. East London/Hackney area ideally.
ALSO- Available for one full week from Oct 21st to 25th.
I am also open to a "nanny share" arrangement. For example, in my last nannying job I cared for one family before and after school (including drop off and collection) and I cared for a nearby family's baby during school hours (9 a.m. to 3p.m.).
As well as regular scheduled hours, I am flexible and available to do extra hours (evenings and occasional weekends) when needed.

Shannon looked after our 3 girls full time when they were 7, 5 and 1 years old. She is an exceptional childcare professional. The girls loved her enthusiasm, her creativity and her positivity. They are now 12, 10 and 7 and I can still see the impact of her influence on their behaviour. She nurtured their self confidence, creativity and respect for people around them. They love drama and performing and this is something that is certainly rooted in their experience with Shannon. I would highly recommend her as a nanny and assure you that any child she cares for will feel the benefit of her influence for years to come.
Overall
Shannon has been out favourite Nanny (and we've had about 5). Great at reading the room and adapting her approach based on what she sees. Super fun and likes to get the kids involved in decision making. Relaxed and happy and creates that atmosphere around her. Organised, good at time keeping. Highly recommended.
