My Summary
About Me
I am currently working for two families as share 5 days a week in the Peckham/Nunhead area. Due to one mum having baby number two, so sadly I am no longer needed and am looking for new role.
I am one of five in a large family, I have four older sisters who have 14 between children between them so I have plenty of experience up to the age of 20! I love spending my spare time with them, going on new adventures and enjoy seeing how they grow up in to lovely young people.
I am a clean and tidy person, and consider myself to be kind and caring. I have a happy and fun loving personality and enjoy being apart of a family. I enjoy cooking for my family and friends in my spare time. I always say I am as happy in the kitchen as on the football pitch.
My Experience
I am NVQ3 qualified and have lots of experience as nanny. I truly enjoy, respect and love helping with the children’s development who I am caring for. I have worked for a number of families of which can all give me a reference. I am still in touch with the families I have worked with and still occasionally babysit for some.
Before nannying, I have worked in a nursery setting for many years and have worked with ages 3months to 7years old during my time in childcare. I am NVQ3 qualified and have 16 years childcare experience. I am first aid trained and have an up to date DBS. I also offer babysitting.
I am a naturally kind and nurturing person an amazing listener with a vast knowledge of childcare needs and the developmental steps. I try to care for the whole family as that is what a nanny is all about. This really is no ordinary job, it's so much more then that for me as it’s so rewarding.
I've always been very active in my line of work and love being outdoors and often take the children on public transport to visit farms, zoos, museums and parks. Fun is a big part of learning and development. I often organise play dates and activities for the little ones and interaction with others I feel is essential for them.
I am qualified as a level 1 football coach and am happy to include this as part of my role if this is something you would like your child to learn.

Sam was due to start with us one day a week from June, before moving to 4 days a week in September. We had spent time and money on two half day settling in sessions in May, only to receive a message from him at 7pm the evening before he was due to start - knowing that it was my first week in a new job - to say that he would no longer be coming. He then ignored my call and WhatsApp message.
For background, he had messaged at noon that same day to confirm he would be coming tomorrow. He also informed me at the same time that his current family (whom he worked with 4 days a week) were no longer moving abroad, so he had decided to stay with them. He said he was planning to tell me face to face when he came 'tomorrow'. I congratulated him and then heard nothing until 7pm when he said he would no longer be coming, because moving forwards, his current family may need him to work on Fridays.

Very sorry you feel this way. As you know from previous references I am always very reliable and pride myself on this. Unfortunately, with the change of situation with my currently family I felt it was not fair on you and your family to move forward with the position as I would not be able to offer 4 days in September. Also I am now unable to guarantee any Fridays due to a private matter going on with my currently family, which they need my full support and I want to stay loyal to them and help as much as I can. I am truly sorry I had to let you down last minute and do wish you find someone soon and wish you all the best.
Sam will have been looking after our toddler for about a year and a half as part of a nanny share, and he has been brilliant for her and for us. Sadly, due to my upcoming maternity leave, we can't keep him on in to the new year.
Sam is a very caring and conscientious person, but he is also tremendously fun. Every day is different and he takes the kids on loads of adventures and playdates, and even manages to tire them out even on rainy days with creative and messy play. He is firm but fair with the kids (and us, when needed!), and likes to work collaboratively with us if there are any behavioural challenges or developmental objectives (for example, he's been an invaluable support in potty training). Our daughter adores him, and we've definitely noticed her bravery and confidence flourish under his care.
Sam cares deeply about his profession and is always asking for constructive feedback, setting new development goals for the kids, as well as developing his own skills as a caregiver and as a cook. He is never late and has never let us down, and it's fair to say he has always gone above and beyond for our family. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sam to anyone.
Sam interviewed with us and came across as well qualified and capable. Despite saying he was DBS checked on the site, he did not have one in place so we asked he obtain it on an expedited basis. Unfortunately, due to redundancy, I was no longer able to have Sam as a nanny. He was understandably quite upset and very insistent on getting reimbursed for the DBS check costs he incurred. We would advise parents to ensure they check all qualifications are verified prior to hiring.
I used this website to find an excellent childminder!
Sam is always on time, great with my children and extremely reliable. Working in a nursery means he is both patient and a great teacher for my children aged 20 months and 31 months.
He is good at communicating his availability and in contacting me for information.
I would definitely recommend him as a full time childminder.
