About Me
Two boys, 3.5 and 8 months
My Requirements
We are looking for an Ofsted-registered Nanny (Wokingham) to help support us as we have ongoing busy family and work situations. We have two lovely boys (3.5 years and 8 months) and are looking for the following:
- Ofsted registration and monthly invoicing a requirement to help us claim back costs (days and hours to be agreed)
- Looking for the additional help to give us more time to keep normal family and household functions going while ensuring both we and the boys get the right amount of quality time, including one-on-one time.
- Light and basic meal prep may be needed, likely putting something in the oven we've already prepared, and light housework/tidying children's items if we are struggling at a particular point.
- Our eldest has Higher Learning Potential (HLP), so he often needs activites usually suited to 4-8 year olds, but with the understanding that he is still developmentally 3. For a suitable person we have a short info sheet on HLP to help explain this futher, which has been written by Potential Plus UK; this helps with understanding HLP and particularly details our son's needs. We're looking for someone energetic, humorous, and able to adapt activities for him, as well as engage in his love for maths and letters/english (so any past tutoring or experience with academic aspects would also help- he is currently doing some maths up to yr3/4 by choice and in some cases beyond and has a reading age of 8+, for example)
- We intend to home educate our children, and as parents we align with gentle parenting techniques (note: this is not the same as permissive parenting!) The naughty step, time-out or any form of isolation punishment does not feature as part of parenting for us and we're looking for someone who respects this, and ideally understands this perspective, alongside knowing reasonable expectations based on the child's developmental age.
- The boys have clubs on some days in the week hence we wouldn't need help every day, but some support at some activities may be needed (we can discuss the hours basis for days in the week)
- We have cats, and also guinea pigs and fish (in case of allergies!)
