My Experience
I bring a strong background in childcare, mental health, and education to every babysitting role I take on. I currently volunteer with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service as a mentor and buddy to pre-teens and teens who are going through a tough time, and I’ve also worked as a sexual health educator with Sexpression, leading workshops on healthy relationships and safety for teens. On the hands-on side, I’ve worked as a full-time nanny for a 6-year-old in the city (happy to provide a reference from his mum!) and have babysat for neighborhood families since I was a teen myself, with children ranging from ages 3 to 11. I’m comfortable with everything from school pickups to bedtime routines, and thanks to my psychology studies at the University of Edinburgh, I have a solid understanding of child development and age-appropriate expectations. I aim to be a calm, supportive, and fun presence in any family I work with.
My Qualifications
I've undergone multiple PVG and criminal background checks for both of the countries I've resided in (U.K. and U.S.) and I'd be more than happy to bring them for an intial meeting. My volunteer obligations have also required extensive training in safeguarding and child-minding.
