About Me

We’re looking for a nanny to join our family in our beautiful big home in Forest Gate 5 days a week for 30-40 hours. We have two kids - a boy aged 5 and a girl aged 3. We’re looking for someone that can be with us long term and build a deep relationship with our family.

You would only ever be responsible for one child at time. When they're not with you they will be at our childminder's or with me, and we can also do outings together with both kids.

Our little girl is smart, creative and loves crafting, painting, singing and dancing, jumping on the trampoline and going to the playground. She doesn’t want to be out and about everyday and enjoys the calm and comfort of home some days.

Our son is autistic and home educated. He’s smart and creative with a huge imagination and he doesn't have learning, speech or physical disabilities. However he does require specific strategies to help him stay emotionally regulated - this mostly involves following his lead, giving him lots of control and choice, and letting him be in relaxing sensory environments like home, parks and playgrounds. He loves playing superheroes, digging for dinosaur fossils in the garden, pillow fights, challenges, and chilling out watching videos, playing video games and drawing.

We will give you lots of training and support about how to integrate into our autism-friendly family, and walk you through specific strategies for our son.

Both kids like a lot of autonomy so we give them lots of choice about what they do each day, what they eat, what they wear etc. We’re a low demand, child-centred household and we don’t have strict rules or routines, just a loose rhythm to the day.

We would ideally love someone with an interest in neurodiversity and experience looking after autistic children. An understanding of things like declarative language, low demand parenting, self directed learning / unschooling would be an advantage but we can provide training and support for the right person.

Most of all we need someone that is full of ideas for fun new things to do at home. Someone creative with lots of energy who is young at heart and will be willing to get on the floor and play, build, act like a dinosaur and run around the house with nerf guns.

We would also love some help with light housework like folding washing and doing dishes each day if time allows.

We have a big house and garden so there’s plenty of space to play. My husband and I are both self employed and work from home so we will be around to help while you settle in.
