It was during my studies in Health and Social Care that my passion for working with children truly began. My Experience
Tutor
As a tutor, I was responsible for overseeing a Year 2 group, planning and delivering Maths and English sessions aligned with the National Curriculum. I adapted lessons to suit the varying abilities of the children, ensuring they remained engaging and accessible. Throughout the academic year, the group dynamic frequently changed, requiring me to tailor my teaching approach to meet their evolving needs. Additionally, towards the end of the school day, I supervised children from Year 1 to Year 6, organizing fun and interactive games to keep them engaged while they waited to be collected.
Family Babysitting
During my time babysitting family members, my main role was to keep the children entertained through both indoor and outdoor play, ensuring they remained engaged and stimulated.
Apprentice Early Years Educator
As an apprentice early years educator, I took on a wide range of responsibilities to support the development and well-being of young children in a nursery setting. I engaged children in age-appropriate activities, working closely with other staff to create a stimulating and nurturing environment. I maintained detailed records of key children’s progress and achievements, ensuring parents were kept informed and involved in their child’s development. Building strong relationships with families was a key part of my role, as was supporting the nursery team with daily tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and organizing learning materials. Additionally, I ensured the safety and well-being of the children by monitoring and recording any accidents or incidents.
