About Me
Hi, I have completed a postgraduate diploma in Autism from Strathclyde University after completing six modules, including Conceptual Frameworks in Autism, Responding to Autism: Approaches and Interventions, an Investigator in DIR floortime as an intervention, and Autism and Schooling. I'm also working on my master's thesis about the role of play in improving social communication in autistic children.
I believe that raising autism awareness is critical for better outcomes for both families and children, therefore, I launched a group that allowed me to collaborate online with many families and professionals from around the world to create a better individual development plan for autistic children. I started working as a play therapist as part of my master's thesis and have been doing so for more than a year now. Each child I worked with improved their communication and social skills. I hope to work with more autistic children to ensure that these improvements reach as many individuals as possible.
My Experience
I have experience teaching biology in the academy.
I have worked as a volunteer to teach young children (5-10 years old) Arabic.
I have worked in collaboration with other professionals to create development plans for autistic children.
I have worked in Playscheme at GAS Aberdeen organisation.
I have been working with my autistic child for the past 8 years to develop his academic and social skills.
I'm working on combining three evidence-based practice interventions to increase social communication outcomes for autistic children for my master's thesis.
