Hello, I'm Jessica – a qualified Primary School educator with QTS and over seven years of classroom experience across a range of year groups. Throughout my teaching career, I have led small group sessions with a personalised approach, ensuring lessons are interactive, engaging, and well-suited to each learner’s needs.
My core focus lies in supporting children with phonics, early reading, and writing, helping them to build strong foundations in literacy. I believe that children learn best when lessons are enjoyable, hands-on, and tailored to their unique learning style. I offer tutoring online, with a nurturing approach that prioritises each child’s confidence and resilience. By adapting my methods to meet the needs of the individual, I aim to empower learners to approach challenges with assurance and a positive mindset.
My Experience
In 2014, I completed my PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status at Middlesex University. Since then, I have gained seven years’ experience teaching pupils across the primary age range, from Reception through to Year 6. My background includes supporting children in both mainstream and special school settings, including those with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs.
Working in London schools has given me valuable insight into supporting pupils from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and working in partnership with their families.
I have a proven track record of closing learning gaps swiftly through targeted interventions and one-to-one support – whether it’s helping Early Readers, or improving spelling.
In addition to my work with children, I also have experience teaching yoga to adults. The skills I’ve developed in the classroom – from careful planning and time management to delivering clear, structured instruction – have translated well into other teaching environments, allowing me to engage learners effectively and guide them through thoughtfully sequenced sessions.
