My Requirements

LOOKING FOR A WRAPAROUND NANNY, MON-THURS, FROM JANUARY 2025

Dear all

We’re looking for a wraparound nanny to look after our daughter, Iris, after she finishes at the childminder as our current, wonderful, nanny is moving on.

We would need someone from 5pm - c.7pm, Monday to Thursday. You would pick Iris up from her childminder at 5pm, bring her home to our flat (we live only a couple of minutes walk from her childminder), give her dinner and tidy up afterwards and then give her a bath. My partner (Dan) or I then takeover and put her to bed.

For dinner, I will have pre-prepared something, so usually this is just a case of heating things through (and I can text you instructions each day).

We work from home quite a lot, so usually either Dan or I will be home when you get back with Iris (though I tend to shut myself away at my desk so as not to distract and interfere!), but sometimes we will both be in the office. On those days, whoever is putting her to bed would be home around 6:30pm.

My partner and I often work very long hours, so there may be the odd occasion (I think this has only happened once in the last 18 months) that we would ask you to stay a little bit later to help us out, perhaps even putting Iris to bed yourself. We would always give as much notice as possible, and of course it would be subject to your availability, but the ability and willingness to be flexible is key for us. We don’t get out much, but if you're ever keen to do any babysitting into the evening (weekday or weekend), we would also gladly take you up on that!

Iris will be 3 in January. She loves reading and imaginative play, is incredibly talkative, funny, boisterous and loving and is a pretty good eater, so hopefully it would be a pleasant job!

We would like to give Iris stability, so this job posting is for a permanent position (minimum 2-3 months).

You will need to be DBS checked, have previous experience, and be able to provide references.

Ideally you would be local, but if not please note that there is no parking available. However, we are very close to both Hackney Downs and Hackney Central stations, buses 56 and 30 stop right outside and buses 254, 106, 276 and 242 stop within a five minute walk.
