About Me
Hi, my name is Paula. We are a Neurodivergent household. My son is 15 and has a bespoke package of education and is not on roll at a school.
My Requirements
My son is not able to access any formal education currently, so we are looking for someone/potentially a few members of staff, who can provide a mentoring type role. He is an avid gamer, so if you are too, then even better! To start with it’s just a case of relationship building, as time goes on I have no doubt that the opportunitues for learning will present themselves! We adopt a learning through play, interest led/child led learning model.
Things this could include;
Gaming on xbox (fortnite, roblox, minecraft and more)
Cooking
Playing board games
Arts and crafts
Nerf gun battles
Playing on outside equipment
Trips to the local park
Scootering/walking locally
Trips to soft play
Trips to animal therapy
Trips to local coffee shop/eating out
Trips to theme parks, museums etc.
Must be able to recognise learning opportunities as they arise organically.
Must be able to see learning happening in day to day life.
Able to adopt a low demand approach.
Able to building a trusting relationship based on honest/direct communication.
We have funding for 10hrs tutoring, 6hrs LSA (38 wks) and 5hrs PA (52 wks)
Full bespoke training will be provided.
Car driver essential.
SEN experience preferable, but not essential.
Someone young, full of energy, fun and engaging would be ideal.
