About Me

I’m 25 years old with a passion for childcare. I have over 4 years experience, from being a au-pair, A Nanny and working as a preschool assistant as well as babysitting jobs.
I am a caring, understanding empathetic, patient person with a passion for enriching children’s lives.
I have always had a love of kids and the first nannying role I had solidified that it was a career I wanted to pursue. I believe this came from the extremely close bond that I had with my Nanny whilst I was growing up and I want the chance for children to experience some of the love and joy which I did.
When I first Au-paired for the two children in London I tried to encourage them into a stable routine. I did this by making Reward charts with them, which included tasks such as making their beds and brushing their teeth and getting dressed. The children got to decorate the charts as they wished, and as each task was completed, they would get to add a sticker of their choice to it. At the end of the week, we would count the stickers and they would get to chose and activity for us to do on the weekend which could have been ‘going to the museum, going swimming, and teddy bears picnic or building a fort. I believe it helped the simpler task run smoothly and gave them something to look forward to at the end of the week.
When I started my next childcare role, in 2017 I was able to bring my knowledge gained from the previous position to this role as the children were of similar ages. The girls had incredible imaginations and we would spend a lot of time playing with their Lego, playing ‘fairy sisters’ and ‘schools’. They were always keen for me to join in, especially during ‘School’ where I was the student and they both were the teachers. I love interacting with a child’s creative side where they want me too, but I also understand the importance of solo play when they require it. Looking after them was a true pleasure and I was extremely sad when they moved from London.
Becoming a full-time carer was often not to dissimilar to looking after a young child. I was often wiping a snotty nose and, as I oversaw his personal care, wiping his bum too. I believe that any challenge thrown at me, I can adapt to and use it in the future as a beneficial life lesson. My passion for caring for people shines through all ages of life and If I believe that this role will highlight that. I have no fear to get muddy, silly and to make sure that everyone is having the most enjoyable time possible.
