Welcome to Little Hedgehogs. I’m Naomi. I live in Windle, St Helens.
After ten years of working in primary schools, I have decided to take all my experience and knowledge and create Little Hedgehogs.
A home from home setting, providing childcare for your little ones. We provide a safe, happy and nurturing environment where your child can grow at their own pace.
Our playroom provides an inspiring environment for children to play, explore and discover. We also have a large garden for outdoor fun such as water, sand and mud play.
Children will enjoy trips out in our local area. They will enjoy the outdoors, where they can can learn, be creative, socialise and grow in independence.
I am a qualified primary school teacher, and I have always loved working with children. I believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. I am passionate about providing high quality early learning, so that children become creative, resilient, and adventurous learners.
For you parents, I know that childcare is one of the biggest decisions you will make, so I am always here to answer any questions you have and to support you on this journey.
Little hedgehogs has been a dream of mine for a long time and I am so excited to open and have years of adventures.

My Experience
Primary school teacher – I have taught nursery, reception and all KS1/2 classes. I have a lot of experience teaching phonics, early reading, fine and gross motor skills activities. I have good working knowledge of the National Curriculum and Early Years foundation stage.
Nurture mentor – I have ran nurture groups in primary schools. Intervention groups for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties which are creating a barrier to learning within a mainstream class. I completed training with Nurture UK and provided sessions on topics such as building self esteem and making friends.
Personal assistant for SEN child – providing respite for parents. Taking child on days out. Exploring the outside at the park, playing games or indoor activities such as swimming, trampolining, pottery painting classes, and soft play centres.
Private tutor – teaching children in their own homes. Supporting children to achieve their learning goals.
SEN 1-1 teaching assistant- I have experience working with children who have autism, downs syndrome and ADHD.
I have also worked as a camp counsellor for two summers in the USA and taught English abroad in Thailand.
My Qualifications
PGCE Primary Education - Merit
BA Hons Journalism degree - 2:1
A-Levels - English Language and Literature, Media and ICT
AS level - Sociology, General Studies
GCSEs - ICT, Design and technology, English language, English Literature, Double Science, Mathematics, Spanish
My Availability
I work Monday- Thursdays. 8am-5pm, but happy to be flexible. Please note I only offer full day care.
