About Me
Hi I'm Jane and I am the Ofsted registered childminder of 'Little Starz' located in Boughton Monchelsea. My setting is within my home in a room dedicated and designed for the children to not only develop but to provide an 'at home' environment that allows them to feel at ease and comfortable. My setting is homely and full of a wide range of toys, activities and books that suit each child's interests and development goals. Everyone in the setting is enhanced DBS checked including my husband and daughter who also live within the home. We also enjoy the outdoors, whether this is the garden, parks, local attractions such as Kent Life and the Rare Breed Centre as well as attending weekly local toddler groups.
I have been a qualified childminder for 13 years and follow the EYFS guidelines to ensure the activities throughout our day incorporate not only each child's unique interests but also achieving the areas of child development through play and exploration. The children are able to take part in various activities such as arts and crafts, sensory play e.g. sand and water play, the list goes on! which all allow the children to have fun and be introduced to new things. The children also attend various toddler groups throughout the week which allows the children to meet and play with other children outside of the setting. However, this is only a summary of what a day could be like for your child as everyday is different and all activities and milestones are recorded in each child's personal diary that parents have access to at any time.
Included in our daily rate, the children receive healthy home cooked meals and snacks, and our weekly menu can be altered based on dietary requirements.
Finally, I understand the importance of the partnership between parents/careers and the childminder to ensure that each child unique needs are being fulfilled in my setting, meaning that any at home routines in place can be followed on in our setting that is equipped with facilities for nap times, as well as age appropriate car seats and pushchairs to provide as much ease to parents and the children as possible.

My Experience
JD Childminding was originally formed in 2011 and has since been renamed to Little Starz Childcare. My work within childcare has involved working with children aged newborn-teenagers, and previous to becoming a childminder I worked within a primary school and ran a local toddler group in Loose as well as raising my own daughter.
