About Me

My name is Sas, I am 22 and I’m about to finish my Masters at the University of Leeds and move back to London. I’ve worked as a nanny for over 9 years and I have experience looking after and tutoring children including those with complex needs. I am very warm and friendly ! I've grown up in a busy household full of kids from a young age.

My Experience

I began babysitting at the age of 13, initially looking after my younger siblings (one of whom has severe ADHD). This experience helped me develop key childcare skills early on, such as supporting him in building healthier routines to better focus his energy and attention. I also regularly looked after the children of family friends.

Between the ages of 14 and 18, I worked for SafeSitters, a babysitting agency based in South London. During this time, I cared for children aged 2 to 13, managing school drop-offs and pick-ups, and organising engaging and creative activities during school holidays.

While at university, I took on various jobs outside of childcare, but also offered private tutoring to GCSE students in English, Philosophy, Religion, Ethics, and History. As someone with dyslexia, I understand the value of adapting learning strategies. I use a multisensory approach and interactive methods to help students grasp key concepts, always aiming to provide multiple ways to make meaningful learning connections.

After completing my undergraduate degree, I returned to childcare, providing dedicated care for a three-year-old with complex needs, including post-tracheostomy care and PEG feeding. I received NHS-approved training and gained the necessary qualifications to offer this specialist support, successfully helping the child transition into nursery and aiding in their ongoing recovery.

More recently, while undertaking my Master’s degree, I have been working part-time as a nanny for a family in Leeds. Alongside this I’ve also ran craft tables for children across different venues in Leeds supervising and supporting up to 15 children at a time. I have also started online tutoring, teaching English as a foreign language to learners from a range of backgrounds.

My Qualifications

- Currently studying MA Conflict Development and Peace building (Predicted grade: Distinction)

-'B,B,B' in 'Religion, Philosophy and Ethics', Politics and History at A-Level and A* in EPQ (worth half an A-level)
