About Me
Hi, my name is Teresa Wagland, I have been a registered childminder with Ofsted since 2011. My last Ofsted inspection in 2019 graded my setting as GOOD.
My previous work experience includes completing an Environmental Science degree and working in the computer services industry for many years before having my children and deciding on a different path and re-training to become a specialized Early Years teacher.
I live with my husband works who full time, who has a full DSB check, we have a gorgeous dog called Luna. Luna is now 7 years old, she’s been brought up from birth with little ones and is very good natured with children especially.
I have two children my daughter is age 18 and my son is age 21. My daughter has just finished an Animal Management course at Shuttleworth college. My son is full-filling his life long dream working as a HGV mechanic.
I decided to become a childminder because, as well as wanting to spend more time with my own children when they were younger, I love working with children, especially those in the early years (0-5). I aim to be reliable, friendly and provide a happy and safe environment for your child to develop and grow.
Children in my care enjoy arts and crafts, baking, reading, lots of fresh air with trips out to local children's groups, shops and library and other local places of interest such as, but not limited to; RSPB Nature reserves, farms, woods, cafes, softplay and much more.
I strive to provide a real home from home environment, providing a nice easy going and relaxed atmosphere. With my keen interest in the environment and science we are often on bug hunts, looking and exploring the environment around us and completing simple science experiments as we play.
I am very flexible with working arrangements and would be more than happy to discuss your requirements with you.
My Experience
I have of course had all the joy, love and adventure of bringing up my own two children. In the past 13 years I have had the experience of professionally minding children aged from 6mths to 14yrs, 6 of which have had English as an additional language. For one child my training as a teacher enabled me to quickly help him settle into school, working in partnership with his class teacher to enable him to quickly learn to talk, read and write English, complete homework and help his parents to communicate with the school). I also have written references for your perusal.
In 2009 I trained to be a teacher, specialising in the EYFS and Key Stage 1 and 2 and worked at local Lower School.
I registered as a childminder with Ofsted in 2011 and I am a member of PACEY.
Previous to 2009 I worked as a parent helper within my childrens school and assisted at various toddler groups as my own children grew up. I have been a member of the PTA and have helped out on many school events and trips.
I have experiance of supporting and caring for children with multiple food intolerances/allergies with/without the requirement for EpiPen prescription.

I am believe to provide the best home from home experience and learning environment for your child I am up to date with current practices and complete e-learning on-line courses and attend training sessions lead by my local council and the Department of Education until the time of relocating to Swaffham and will continue my professional development and learning.
My Availability
I am work Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5:30pm, Friday 7:30am to 3pm, I am very flexible with working arrangements and would be more than happy to discuss your requirements with you.
I am able to cover school holidays and teacher training days.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
Included within my fees are snacks, outings, toddler groups and adventures. Parents are to provide meals.

Teresa has looked after both my children since they were 11 months and 2 years old. My children adore her and she has provided a warm, safe, nurturing environment for them to grow and develop over the past three years. Teresa always has her weeks planned in advance with fun, interesting outings for the children and is generous with love and cuddles when needed.
My eldest son is now at a private pre-preparatory school and my youngest is about to join him in September 2016. Thanks to Teresa, both were/are 100% ready to attend pre-school and school. She ensured my children knew the basics of numeracy and literacy, and also helped them to develop the social skills required for the next stage of their childhood.
Teresa cares deeply for the children in her care. Recently , my eldest son was admitted to hospital and she took the time to come and visit him. She understands the needs of young children and knows how to communicate with them to ensure they feel supported and nurtured.
Putting our children in Teresa's setting was one of the best decisions my husband and I have ever made and we would not hesitate to recommend her to other parents who are looking for high-quality childcare.

My first daughter was at nursery and after my experiences there I decided to look for a childminder for my second daughter. Teresa now also does the school run for my older daughter. Both love going to Teresa, there are never any tears, in fact both jump out of the car in the mornings and can't run towards her fast enough. The days are well structured, planned through in advance and there's still enough time to just have some fun. Teresa has always been very helpful, flexible and reliable. Communication has been very clear and she has always accommodated special requests. We are very glad to have found her to look after our girls whilst we are at work.

Teresa has provided childcare cover for me, often at very short notice and this has been a real help. She ensured that my daughter settled in well and always gives clear and timely communication on the day and the general arrangements. I would be happy to recommend this setting.
