My Summary
Solo Childminder, Small Home From Home Setting. Where We Learn Though Play.
About Me
I am an ofsted Registered childminder,
I have been registered over 12 years.
I am registered to take government funded.
FUNDING IS OVER 38 WEEKS OF THE YEAR.
MORE DETAILS AVAILABLE.
I am open a minimum 42 wk's per year. ( There are days off in school holidays & though out the year for my own family time and further training)
My waiting list is reviewed and updated regularly and I recommend parents on the list check their spam / junk regularly.
I can also except non funded children, Where my rates start @ £5.00 ph. This is for children attending full days and I recommend a minimum of 2 days a week, for under 5yrs old,
Full days work out cheaper.
( I work out a set price for each day, depending on your requirements, the more hours you attend the better the discount)
The government has set eligibility for funding, I am happy to point you in the right direction, while supporting you in any way within my professional role that i can. (However I am not in control of if your entitled or not)
I also except tax free and work vouchers of many leading companies and other benefits. I live with my husband & we have a daughter who is at secondary school.
I encourage all children to be children and learn though play, They will have a home from home with hardly any technology.
I must under the Early Years Foundation Stage ( EYFS) include some structured planned curriculum activities daily, these are planned around the children's interests while also exploring and expanding their personal development.
I allow the children to have some free play using their own choices as well, so its child lead play as well, just like if they were at their own homes.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework in all the 7 areas ie physical, language and communication and the world around us and personal development and more.
We go outside as well as indoor activity's eg toddler groups, country walks, park trips, ie growing my own veg in summer months & art & crafts lots, messy play, water, sand and painting and making things from resources, there are to many activities to show you here.
I am happy to share funding with one other settings if required, ie a nursery, or pre school, ( This is recommended the max to share ) However there are requirements for providing & claiming and I am happy to provide more details on request.
Part of the registration process is to have police checks, Then repeatedly during your time Ofsted keep a close eye on all adults living within the home/ Setting, These are now called DBS, however they dont supply new certificates for these checks and ( my'n is the old style CRB) unfortunately Ofsted don't reissue certificates, When i was last inspected the ofsted inspector confirmed it was all ok.
However I do have an enhanced DBS from my volunteer part as a girlguiding leader that's done regularly and your welcome to see both when you visit. ( If you would like to)
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for over 19yrs in various places, nurseries, children's pre schools etc before opening Hatchlings.
I have learnt that the parents & myself working in partnership in a relaxed calm environment and an open communication are the main keys to a happy, safe and educational environment for the children.
I work with you & your child at their pace, i provide lots of ideas activities and will send some home for you to do, I also have a book club or craft club if like, that i can send from time to time so you can feel confident and supported doing activities with your child.
Many parents work long hours and feel they miss out on their childs development, so i hold termly parents meetings as well as informal partys etc in our home from home setting.
No 2 children are the same, So your child will be encouraged to grow and develop to their strengths and their own likes and dislikes.
I do lots of course's each year to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge all year round about childs development.
I have the statutory Paediatric First Aid for child care practitioners & Safeguarding level 3 to name just 2 I have lots more, most are not compulsory but I choose to attend them.

I would really recommend Angie / Hatchlings Childminders to anyone! Although my two boys only went to Angie for a short while they really enjoyed their time there and learnt so much. My boys were 1/2 and 3/4 went they went to Angie. She was really good with them. I would definitely use Angie again in the future for any childcare needs I may have. Nothing was ever too difficult for her and she always helped me when I needed help. She is kind and friendly. Thank you so much Angie :) hopefully use you again soon xxxx
