My Experience

I am currently completing a university course in Children and Young People’s nursing however I am taking a step back this year and looking for a job that furthers my communication with children and parents. Placement
? During the last 2 years, I completed 1449 hours of placement on my university course. I had the opportunity to work in both Salisbury and Southampton Children’s Hospitals, and in the community. I have worked in; Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Salisbury General Children’s Ward, Day Assessment Unit, HIgh Dependency Unit, Health Visiting, Immunisation Nursing, and School Nursing.
? Roles I undertook during this time included: looking after and talking to mental health patients, supervising meal times and bath times for mental health patients, cleaning, helping patients with basic hygiene, communicating with both children, parents and support services such as social workers and counsellors, spotting signs of abuse and neglect, assessing mental capacity of adolescents and undertaking safeguarding assessments.
Chiltern Hills Montessori Nursery
? For the last 4 years, I have worked at a nursery which provides daycare for children 3 months - 4 years. In this job, I took on roles such as setting up meal times, washing up, planning activities for the children, teaching children basic skills and independence, nap time, cleaning, and handing over the children to their parents at the end of the day.
Swim coaching
? I swam at Wycombe District Swimming Club competitively for 7 years. I then started volunteering in 2019 - 2020, both at the club and at a school, teaching swimming lessons for children ages 7-11. This taught me how to communicate with various ages of children, how to motivate them and how to engage with them.
Creche assistant
? In 2020, I worked at an after school creche for children ages 4-7. I planned weekly activities for the children.

“I was impressed with Georgia from her first day when Sarah and myself were working with her on CDAU. Georgia got stuck in straight away and was enthusiastic and used her initiative to help on what was a busy day. Since then, I have worked with Georgia on several occasions. Georgia comes across as a 2nd year student rather than a 1st year student. Georgia took her own 1 or 2 patients with support whilst working with me. She is confident but works within the limits of her competence and always asks for help and appropriate questions. Georgia has been competent in doing patient observations on children of different ages, and has also worked on building skills such as doing an A-E assessment, IM injections with supervision from trained nursing staff, dipping urines, calculating and drawing up oral medications, taking blood glucose and ketone readings and burns dressings. She communicates well with children and their families and is professional at all times. Georgia has also integrated well into the team, is friendly and a pleasure to work alongside. My Qualifications

I am currently working towards a BSc in Children and Young People’s nursing.
I hold 9 GCSEs including maths and English.
I have 3 A-levels including Biology, Psychology and Religious Studies.
I have an enhanced DBS check.
Various e-learning courses including; safeguarding children level 3, equality, diversity and human
rights, health, safety and wellness, resuscitation of adults and children, mental capacity and adult safeguarding, data security awareness.

My Availability

I can be flexible with my availability. I am used to working early morning, late nights and weekends if this is what you need. I can work up to 30 hours a week.

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
• Nannying from £13.00 per hour (gross)
