I’m a 40 something year old who has been a babysitter for 25yrs+ as well as an au pair in Switzerland and am now a paediatric nurse. I have three children (between 8-14yrs) and am married and settled, I have my own car, I love to travel and experience new things. I’m a non smoker and very rarely drink. Happy to drive and go new places.
I love music and cycling as well as swimming and adventures! I love being by the sea and exploring with my own children. Keen to engage with contemporary subjects and talk about life as well as being a good listener and like having fun - keen on live comedy and silly romcoms!
I have 3 cats and a dog and a hamster, love animals and helping others. I’m reliable and flexible as well as kind, caring and empathetic, I can provide documents on request and look forward to helping you out with your childcare needs!
Happy to answer any questions and keen to help in any way I can. Can do short shifts or longer ones and really like to engage and play with children.
Currently I am available for evenings and overnights and school holidays. I do book up quickly so prefer advanced date requests if at all possible. Thank you.
My Experience
Babysitting and being an au pair and now a paediatric nurse, I’ve also worked in special needs schools and holiday schemes for children with special needs. Worked in nurseries and crèches and within a variety of childcare environments.
I am happy with all age groups and have also done night nursing and overnight babysitting as well as late nights and odd shift patterns. I am able to support new mothers and care for newborns as well as multiple age ranges and twins etc. Having had my own three children and being a nurse I empathise with situations and am happy to provide care.
Knowledge of, and worked with, children and young people with autism and other learning difficulties and other health/medical needs. Happy to learn new skills and enhance my current ones. I come from a variety of healthcare and childcare settings and am keen to use my experience to work to help enable families and provide childcare.
I can provide care for a few hrs as well as evenings/weekends and overnights. Can also provide wedding/party childcare and holiday childcare, please ask happy to accommodate. References available on request.
My Qualifications
10 GCSEs and 4 ALevels and 2 degrees - one Geography and one in Nursing. First aid trained. Trained lifeguard. Driver with business cover.
My Availability
I am flexible and willing to accommodate. Happy to answer any questions. Availability is flexible during school holidays but less flexible during term time.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
£13 an hr basic rate - can increase if distance is involved or complex child/children. Also dependent on number of children and ages. Happy to offer discounted rate for overnight/prolonged shifts. Can negotiate.

Happygirlie looked after our 10 yr old son with ASD. She listened whilst I explained about our son's quirks (eg instructions needing repeating) and explained his routine and his visual timetable. On our return she gave us a full account of the evening - he hadn't cleaned his teeth very well (no surprises there!) he had wanted several stories, and a hug before bed (he won't go to sleep without a hug). Talking with him the next day his feedback was that he would be happy to be looked after by Happygirlie again - which for him, is the highest of recommendations. We will definitely be asking her to sit for our son in the future. 😀
