My Summary
About Me
I'm a 34 year old Australian who moved here in January 2023. I love London and everything it has to offer. When I arrived, I moved straight in with a family and took on a live in nanny role with three children. I loved everything about it and developed really strong relationships with the children and their mother. I love being active and keeping fit, I enjoy going to the gym every day and I like to eat healthy as well. I have a strong relationship with my family, especially my sisters and their kids and love keeping in touch with them over regular face times. I love animals and in missing my own god and cat back home (George and Coco), I signed up to a pet sitting service so I can get to enjoy other peoples pets.
I am a kind, caring, and compassionate person and have loved my career working with vulnerable children for the past 8 years. Seeing how resilient and inspired children can be motivates me to be the best version of myself when caring for them. I hope to transfer my knowledge and experience in childcare to a family environment where I can provide ongoing support to the children and parents.
I have a British passport and will be staying in London long term so I am looking for a family where I can build a long-lasting relationship with and grow with the family and their needs. I hope to bring safety and joy to the children's lives and provide reassurance to their parents that their child is being cared for properly.
My Experience
I have eight rewarding years of experience in the field of social care (child protection), working with vulnerable children living in Out of Home Care. My heart and career aspirations have led me to embark on a new journey as a professional nanny. My objective is to bring my extensive experience in supporting children's physical, emotional, and social needs into a family environment, where I can provide focused and dedicated care for your children.
My experience in this field along with my caring nature and dedication to fostering healthy child development, allows me to build strong and nurturing relationships with children. I believe in creating a warm and supportive environment where children can explore their interests, express their creativity, and develop important life skills. I am also a strong advocate for open communication with parents, providing regular updates on each child's progress, needs, and achievements.
My background in social care has equipped me with invaluable skills that support child development, behaviour management, and therapeutic care. I am excited to apply these skills to the role of a nanny, where I can create a loving and supportive atmosphere for children to thrive and grow. I also look forward to developing a strong relationship with parents where we can work in collaboration for the best interests of the children.
In my most recent nanny position I held the following responsibilities:
- Child Supervision: Provided constant supervision and care for three children, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Daily Activities: Planned and executed daily routines and activities, including playtime/playdates, educational games, outings, and homework assistance.
- Meal Preparation: Prepared nutritious and balanced meals and snacks tailored to each child's dietary preferences and requirements. In addition to meal preparation, I am experienced in the preparation of bottles with accurate feeding amounts for breast or bottle-fed babies, with appropriate sterilisation methods used throughout the cleaning process.
- Hygiene Routines: Implemented and maintained consistent hygiene routines for the children, including healthy oral hygiene practices and preparing the children for bed/nap time.
- Child Development: Provided children with age-appropriate activities aimed at increasing their educational and emotional development. I provided a loving and safe environment, fostering emotional well-being. Through engaging activities, I stimulated their curiosity and thirst for knowledge, encouraging their educational growth. Promoting social interaction, physical activity, and creative expression. Engaged infants and toddlers in age appropriate activities such as play groups and imaginative play, to develop healthy social skills and increase their creativity and imagination.
Homework Support: Assisted with homework and school projects, encouraging a productive and educational environment.
- Transportation: Arranged and managed school drop-offs and pick-ups, as well as transportation to extracurricular activities.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediated conflicts and disagreements among the children, promoting healthy communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Household Maintenance: Managed housekeeping tasks, including cleaning up after children, organising their belongings, cleaning common areas, and maintaining a tidy play area.
- Communication with Parents: Maintained regular and open communication with parents, providing updates on children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Emergency Response: Implemented safety protocols and responded effectively to emergencies, including administering first aid when necessary.
- Emotional Support: Provided emotional support and guidance to the children, helping them navigate challenges and develop essential life and coping skills.
- Privacy: Respecting and maintaining a family's privacy at all times.
My Qualifications
I have a bachelor's degree in Human Services and a diploma in Community Services. These are equivalent to a NVQ Level 6 and NVQ Level 5. Both qualifications specialise in increasing knowledge and skills to support the development of vulnerable populations, like people with disabilities, disadvantaged or displaced children, and aging individuals. In addition to my degree and diploma, I hold many certificates for additional training I have completed that cover all areas of a child's life and development.
I have an Enhanced DBS check and a First Aid Certificate. I would be happy to provide all certificates at your request.
