My Experience

My career journey began as a Speech and Language Therapist, a role I held for three years. During this time, I worked closely with children who faced communication challenges, such as speech delays, language disorders, and social communication difficulties. My responsibilities included assessing children’s individual needs, developing tailored therapy plans, and working collaboratively with families and educators to achieve the best outcomes for each child. This role gave me a deep understanding of how early intervention can positively impact a child’s developmental trajectory and provided me with skills in observation, assessment, and structured play-based learning.

After this, I transitioned into a role as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, where I supported children with various additional needs in an educational setting. This experience allowed me to adapt classroom activities to suit individual needs, provide one-on-one support to children, and assist teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment. I developed a strong ability to build trust with children and their families, ensuring that every child felt valued and supported in their learning journey.

Currently, I am working as a Nursery Practitioner Assistant, where I focus on the care and development of young children during their crucial early years. My role involves creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children, planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, and supporting children’s physical, emotional, and social development. I enjoy encouraging children’s curiosity, helping them build confidence, and celebrating their achievements, no matter how small.

Master of Public Health (MPH) – London Metropolitan University
I recently completed my Master of Public Health, which broadened my understanding of public health principles, particularly in areas related to child health, well-being, and community health promotion. This degree enhanced my ability to analyze health systems, evaluate intervention programs, and advocate for healthier environments for children.

BSc in Speech and Hearing Sciences (Speech and Language Therapy)
My undergraduate degree provided me with a solid foundation in speech and language therapy, communication sciences, and child development. Through this program, I gained expertise in assessing and treating communication disorders, understanding the underlying causes of speech and language difficulties, and implementing therapy programs tailored to individual needs.

NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) – Currently Pursuing
I am currently working towards this diploma, which is recognized as a key qualification for professionals in early childhood education. This course is further developing my skills in providing care and education to young children, promoting their physical, emotional, and intellectual development, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and health & safety regulations.

Paediatric First Aid Certification
I have completed a paediatric first aid training course, which equips me with the skills to respond effectively to emergency situations involving children. This includes CPR, treating injuries, and managing illnesses, ensuring the children in my care are safe and supported at all times.

Basic First Aid Training Certification
In addition to paediatric first aid, I have completed basic first aid training, giving me the ability to handle general medical emergencies in various settings.

I have completed all required training relevant to childcare, including safeguarding, health and safety, and early years development. These courses ensure that I maintain the highest standards of care and professionalism in my role.
