My Summary

My Experience

I have lots of experience caring for children from volunteering, work experience, working at summer camps and babysitting.

During summer (2024) I lived and worked at a summer camp in america. I cared for and taught classes of 7-15 year olds and was a bunk counsellor for 7-9 year olds. I was responsible for overseeing the emotional and physical wellbeing of the children in my care. My daily responsibilities included; wake up, bedtime, meal times, writing daily reports of the children, planning activities (arts and gymnastics), and connecting and communicating with the children.

2024- As part of my teaching degree I have completed placements within primary schools.

2022- I gained voluntary experience within a primary school, with P2, where i worked one-on-one with pupils to develop phonic and number knowledge. I also helped at an after school club, with P1-7, where I planned fun activities for all age groups.

2018-2023- I volunteered at a summer day club for children aged 4 to 12, which I enjoy and has furthered my enthusiasm for working with children. I cared for 5-7 year olds and participated and encouraged the children to enjoy and benefit from the activities.

2018-2023- I am also an assistant leader at a Beaver/Cubs group where I help organise games, crafts, and other activities. Although I no longer assist I always visit when I’m back in the area :)

My Qualifications

I am currently studying primary education at university, where I will earn a degree and become a qualified primary school teacher in Scotland. I have a PVG background check.

In high school I gained 7 National 5's- AAAAAAB and 5 higher's- AABBB
